If you're way off to the left, the notion that anyone would be so stupid as to think that reducing capital gains tax rates would stimulate the economy is in itself as comically absurd as a diving board on a cesspool. Nationalized health care seems so goofy to someone way off to the right that it's difficult trying to figure out how to exaggerate the absurdity to make a real joke about it. The political humor with broad appeal dosen't really make ideological assumptions, it's about things that are not really essentially political, like the physical appearance or speaking style of political figures.
