Damn right, ladies; this is me. Just in case anybody was wondering what fool would register with a name like Menard. :lookingup:

I have not wanted to register as I simply don't like to go back on decisions I have made. I have, however, registered for two basic reasons:

1) As of the recent problems with MF (MetropolisForever), I don't want to leave the username open for someone to come in here and try to emulate me. Not like that is on the top of anybody's mind, but the damn fool did try to login as Andrew, and it made me think of how easy it would be (for a very short while before Andrew caught it) for somebody to try that with my username.

2) Eventually, despite his long suffering to keep it open, Andrew may have to face the time when he can no longer allow guest posting. There may be another out there that I am forgetting, but I think Dave Munger and myself have been the only two regular guest posters (I think Dave has an account, still, but seems to not be able to login to it for some reason).


Yeah? This doesn't mean a damn thing. I will probably still post as a guest to keep up my phantom post count; plus I'm certain it rides up some britches the wrong way not knowing when someone is on here.



First and foremost, though:

Did not think about registering disabling my ability to post as a guest using my name. Goddammit, now I'm p**sed.

Any way to correct that, Andrew?

Done, and welcome aboard.  Unfortunately, I do not know of a way for you to post as a guest with the name "Menard" when there is a registered account for "Menard."  Perhaps "Menard-faux" or "Menard-but-not" would work?

I don't know about the USA or Canada, but in South Africa, there was such a board: they called themselves the Publications Control Board ~ these were the guys who banned Anna Sewell's Black Beauty on the title alone.  :buggedout:
