Title: Western
Post by: JosM on December 04, 2008, 09:43:16 AM
Hi, an acquaintance is looking for the title of a western. There is little to go on. All she remembers is that towards the end there is a gunfight between one and many, on horses, in a circle. Everyone was wearing long coats. Clint Eastwood was not in this.

Can you suggest some titles?

Thanks.

Possibly "Breakheart Pass" from 1975.

There's a John Wayne western with a scene kind of like that.  John Wayne is facing off, alone, against several men, and he starts the gunfight saying something like, "Come and get it, you sons of b***hes!"  They were all on horses.

I believe that movie is "True Grit".

" Once upon a time in the west"

There aren't any big gunfights that occur on horses in "Once Upon a Time in the West".  Chuck Bronson shoots the guys in long coats at the beginning, though they weren't on horses at the time.

Actually that scene happens in "My Name Is Nobody" which also stars Henry Fonda. He detonates concealed dynamite planted in their saddle bags as part of a plan to make him a legenadry figure concocted by his eccentric 'friend' "Nobody" (Terence Hill)
