I felt kinda bad that someones "hottest actress" thread was being taken up by Elvira pics. She should have her own thread. Post Elvira stuff/ thoughts here. I'm guessing that some of the older posters here watched a fair few of their bad movies with her. Being, y'know, young and British I never grew up with Elvira. I first encounted her about 2 months ago when I bought my self the first series of Lois and Clark The New Adventures of Superman. There's a scene when Perry is cleaning out his office and he has a giant cardboard cut ot of Elvira. I got curious and typed her into you tube to see what came up...

Man, she's cool !

I used to watch her every weekend when I lived in California back in '82 - '83.  Many of my oldest bad movie memories come from her  :teddyr:  The girl with the curves that'll rattle your nerves!  You can buy some of her original programs if you want to see how she started out, just type "Elvira's Movie Macabre" into Amazon.  Very, very cheesy!

She really is cheesy, but in a nice way.
But I did get the first movie and Elvira's box of horror. She still looks great even though she's in her mid 50's.
She even uses the same gags from 20 years ago.

Back to non-disturbing Elvira tidbits, does anybody remember those standees they used to have of her in beer places? I remember those being some of my earlier memories of her (my dad used to take me into the local booze distributor every time he went in to grab himself a six-pack). I want one so badly in my home. Not just an Elvira standee, but one of those Elvira beer standees. I don't even drink. It's just because of the nostalgia factor.

you know, I was just thinking. As much as I like looking at Elvira (boy, do I ever... "like" is an understatement), I gotta say that she is definitely one of those women who I could just listen to her voice all the live-long day. It's like how a lot of kids, when they saw The Fog for the first time as youngsters, heard Adrienne Barbeau and it was the first time they realized that just a voice could be sexy. Same thing for me. Elvira's voice is... just, wow! There's nothing about this lovely lady that I'm not addicted to.

Me meeting Elvira. Yes, I'm aware I'm a hideous f***ing C.H.U.D. Especially next to her. Doesn't help that's also a bad pic o' me AND there's the double-whammy of it having been taken with me sans beard. I HATE how I look clean-shaven. My face looks like a cherub's cellulite-riddled ass! But, alas, I was forced to clean my scruffy self up for a job interview I had earlier that week. Dagnabbit. She was a blast though. Very fun and very sweet. Definitely one of the coolest people I've ever had the chance to meet, and also cool in real-life. I've met a couple celebrities from my cool book who turned out to be total jerks (not many though, in fact, I can really only think two of the top of my head, and I shan't mention their names), but she was great. Took the time to talk and joke and gimme a wet one. Cool, cool woman.

Oh Elvira.  My brother was obsessed with her which kind of filtered down to me.  Elvira is witty, sexy and always entertaining.  My brother actually met her several years back at an autograph signing.  He had the guy behind him film the entire thing.  He brought her flowers which she gave him a huge for (lucky bastard) and she took the time out to make the autograph out to both him and I.  Oh and by the way...

That was one of the greatest things id ever seen out of youtube. I hadn't seen Elvira much when she was young, beautiful.

If you're talking about the Monster Rap video it was pretty cool. I wish I could give good karma to the Elvira fan who created it.

Ahhh, Elvira...I have fond memories of her dating back to before I realized how great boobs are.  The spooky atmosphere and bad puns were as entrancing to me at one point as her cleavage is now.  Granted, now I actually understand her puns, but they're still part of her appeal. 

Some of my favorite B-movies I discovered through recent DVD releases of hers, and the magic of Youtube. 

I think my earliest memory of her is as narrator/commentator for a VHS my mother got me one year at Halloween, a goofy little animated feature entitled "Ketchup Vampires" about, yes, vampires who drink ketchup instead of blood. 

Some of my happiest childhood memories involve this woman. I still remember the thrill of staying up to watch her show and the thrill of waiting to see what film she'd show. They were all new to me, being just a kid and all. I can't watch Attack of the Killer Tomatoes without hearing Elvira's one-liners in my mind. As a kid I loved her wackiness and rock'n'roll attitude. It wasn't until puberty that I began to notice her other qualities (both of them).  I loved those beer displays, too! Remember her guest appearance on C.H.I.P's? I met her once, years ago at a comic-con and I'll never forget how beautiful she looked in person. Alas, I didn't get a kiss! I'll try bringing flowers next time. Her first feature film is always in heavy rotation on my dvd player. Oh, and had it been Neil Diamond, I would've said "o.k, I can deal with that..", but Tom Jones!!?? Gross, I'll never hear "It's not Unusual" in the same way ever again. Thanks, Internets!!

In a friend of a friend way, I know several people who worked with her in Virginia and North Carolina when she was still going by Cassandra Peterson.  Nobody I know has anything bad to say about her -- apparently was a very serious young actress before landing the Elvira deal --

I just missed seeing her once, when she visited the agency I was doing some work for here in Colorado.  Coors Light is the (awful American wee-wee water) beer she was shilling for, and I was trying to get on board the shoots as an extra.  Didn't get on so didn't meet her.

I think there's probably only a dozen people in the UK who know who she is, so I always try to promote her. Y'know, I think I should get some sort of cheque from her. I think I'm doing better a better job promoting her in the UK than she's ever done.

I've always been a HUGE Elvira fan, I've got (I believe) all of movies, comics and in storage I have a life size cardboard cutout of her, Rachel Welch and Bettie Page. (Really should dig those out.)

Why I remember England and fond ones they are, the overcast skies, the damp chill in the air, the rather snobby attitudes of the locals and the overall sense that a bawl was going to break out at any minute. Cassandra Peterson, although most will concentrate on her dirty pillows, has a very attractive face with interesting features.  I usually don't dig redheads but for her I'll make an exception.

I actually distinctly remember watching Elvira: Mistress Of The Dark on VHS one day when I was a kid, and my dad walked in right in the middle of "the tassel scene" at the end. And he went ape, broke the tape, and threw it away.

A couple years later, I shoplifted another VHS of it from a nearby K-Mart. Mwahahahaha!

I've always enjoyed Elvira, saw her first show on channel 9 KHJ TV here in Los Angeles many years ago, she was on Saturday nights at 11:00 PM. One of the reasons I married Poogie is that she sort of understood my liking of this "B" movie program, another is that she looks like her avatar.
