Title: There'll Be Sad Songs...
Post by: Mr. DS on January 22, 2009, 08:49:54 PM
What are some of the saddest songs that you've heard?  Either that or do you have a song you have a hard time listening to because it reminds you of something bad?  Why does the song make you sad?  C'mon, lets weep together... :bouncegiggle:

Don Henley - Boys Of Summer

I've always loved summer time and I live in RI near a few beaches. Theres a certain time of year in mid to late September I sadly realize that winter is just around the corner. The line, "Nobody on the road, nobody on the beach, i feel it in the air, the summers out of reach" really sticks in my head that time of year.  Granted the song is about a failed relationship but the song packs a punch with me that time of the year.

As someone said, when I posted a message on a similiar thread at another board . "There are only two really sad songs in the world. One of them is Not 'A Scottish Soldier.' And one IS 'A Scottish Soldier.'"

For those of you who want to hear the song, there are several variations of it at youtube.com under the song's title.
