Title: Mortal Kombat Conquest
Post by: Mr. DS on February 23, 2009, 10:32:36 PM
I think I'm one of few who actually watched this show.  It came on after WCW wrestling on Monday nights and although it was campy, I dug the story lines.  That and if anything, Kristana Loken was great eye candy.

Sadly I think it was cancelled after two seasons with that last show ending on a down note.  I think Shao Khan took over the world.

I watched this.  I don't remember it being on after WCW though.  I know it was for a while, but for some reason I remember it being syndicated.  There was a MK cartoon for a while too.

I watched this every week as well. I think I saw about four or five episodes before I realized this was a prequel, set in days loooong past. It was goofy fun. I'm pretty sure it only lasted a single season.

I watched it a lot but got confused on the order of the episodes.  I think they repeated a few here in there which threw a monkeywrench into the show's continuity.  Then again, I'm not sure if there was any continuity to begin with, rather just a lot of fighting.

It might have lasted two.  Only because I remember it took them a while to introduced my favorite charachter: Reptile.  It did feature Quan Chi-another personal favorite.

It was enjoyable for camp value-but if you were familiar with the story line in the games, you knew it was going to end badly.  Kung Lao would eventually be killed by Goro and Shang Tsung would take his soul.

It also seemed to me that the show was more of a prequel to the movies, then any real connection to the games.

Anyone know who the white ninja in the intro was supposed to be?  Guessing it's just a character they had in the TV series and not the games...

I think it was supposed to be Smoke.  Or more specically-his ancestor.  The show also had ancestors of Sub-Zero, since the show took place in the past.

I watched this, or at least tried to, but I think Sky TV moved it about a bit; I recall thinking at the time it was better than the movies as they just seem like an exercise to get as many game characters in as they could, whereas this at least tried to have a plot.
