There are lots of sub genres.  One of them is movies with transexuals.  What you might not understand is that even if you have lived in a big city or seen crossdresers on MTV, a movie is a different story, particularly if it features any kind of intimacy.  It requies another, higher level of tolerance and considering movies are light entertainment for most people,  you should definately bear in mind that you might see something that will make you say "why am I watching this?"

All that aside,  this is a good if not great movie that won me despite a low budget and some cliche acting and writing.  It's based on a true and recent  story abuot 101st airborne soldier who falls in love with a drag performer he meets during a wild night on the town.   He and his roomate are the main characters and they are decent actors but Lee Pace, the actor who plays the drag queen is especially good as is some other guy as the moronic impresionable  sort of sidekick 17 year old kid who we meet about halfway through.  extras include interviews with the actors as well as a short but honest and hearbreaking  interview with the actual crossdresser person whose story the film was based on.   4/5

I watched a big chunk of this, and, man, there is some savage violence in that film, if I'm not mistaken.

oh yeah.  cuz it's true to the original story

what I thought was interesting was that the real life drag queen when they interviewed her was alot more feminine than the guy in this movie.  i mean, Lee Pace the actor, he does a good job but he definately woulnd't fool anybody.  but I don't know how Caplernia addams I think is her name, looked back in 1999.
