Her time will be up soon, then all the crack and speedballs beckon...

She'll go the same way as Lindsey Lohan...

Down the toilet.

Down the toilet.

I'm hoping she has the common sense to slowly fade from junior rock star to sitcom/TV series star.  She seems like a decent person, very lovely to see and would make an excellent example of what should happen to a child star instead of what we normally hear about.

As long as she doesn't get a mullet like her daddy used to sport....

Decent person or not, she should use that boatload of money she has to purchase both Acting classes, and some singing lessons, cause she's horrible at both.

Side note on this film.  I found out about it because my house constantly has the Disney Channel on for my son.  They keep showing the same music video over and over again which I guess is featured in this film.

Happy put it best, she can't act or sing much like her father.  Old mullet man is shoving her down our throats and he can't seem to stay out of the limelight either.  The film will undoubtedly make money from teen-tard girls who's parents will shell out the money.  I just can't see it having much legs but who knows.

Isn't it funny how bubble gum teen music refreshes itself ever decade towards the end?

80s

New Kids On The Block
Tiffany
Debi Gibson

90s
Spice Girls
Hanson
NSync
Backstreet Boys

etc etc etc

We're almost out people, stay strong.

Side note, I saw a pic of Miley wearing an Iron Maiden t-shirt the other day.  Does she have any clue of who the hell they are?

Probably not, but that boyfriend of hers, who is in his twenties (she's like, 16.  Hollywood people.), probably loves them so she wears the shirt to impress him or something.

Well, them dating isn't illegal.  Them having sex is, though in California since he's 20, it'd be a misdemeanor.

I also might note that in some states, the age of consent is at 16 - like my home state of Michigan.

Sometimes seems off, but the teenagers in the entertainment industry often seem more mature in some ways, and much less so in others, than many people twice their age.

But yeah, she can't sing and she can't act.  She can't even do a good job of voice acting, as seen in Bolt.

I hate seeing youger kids today wearing 80s metal shirts. It's not that they like the music, it's to be ironic, which is the cool new thing I guess.

I'm almost tempted to go see this in theaters when it comes out. Just for the absurdity of the image of me, big, dirty, hairy, wearing all black, sitting amongst a pack crowd of pink-clad tweeny boppers.

Heh. Maybe I should give it a write-up at Bearded Weirdo Reviews. Lol.

In a video posted on clip-sharing website YouTube.com, Cyrus says, "I'm sure you all have seen me rocking an Iron Maiden shirt lately and I know there's been some people saying, 'Oh, she's a poser,' and 'The only reason she's wearing Iron Maiden is because she wants to be a rock star.'
"So, Iron Maiden - Run To The Hills, Fear of the Dark, Running Free, (all) good song(s), check it out. So thank you, guys. I actually do like Iron Maiden."

Bwahahahahahaha!

Didn't actually watch it, but apparently that's the clip where she talks about Iron Maiden.  Video blogs (blogs in general really) like that bore the hell out of me, no matter who is doing them.

Anybody else think the name HANNAH MONTANA sounds like the name for a porn star?  Y'know "Hannah wants t' mountya" in Hannah Does Hollywood?   I don't know much about her, but I won't be looking at her movie...

Hey Darksider, don't forget (all of whom starred in TV shows or movies and most also made records, some with great success):
'50s: ELVIS PRESLEY, RICKY NELSON, SANDRA DEE
60s: SHELLEY FABARES, THE MONKEES, JOHNNY CRAWFORD, CHAD EVERETT
70s: KRISTY McNICHOL, SHAUN CASSIDY, ANDY GIBB, MAUREEN McCORMICK, WILLIE AMES (who is bankrupt...)
Excepting ELVIS, who is still hot though dead 30+ years, where are the rest now?

Guys, guys, please.  Why gang up on this poor little thing?  There are thousands out there who STILL swoon at the thought of "Titanic".

And, no, I'm not a fan. Actually, this thread is the only time I come in contact with anything having to do with this bit of fluff.  I am thankfully immune due to having no cable, I avoid any pop magazines (And since when did Rolling Stone join the ranks of brainless crap? I swear, they should drop the nukes on us all.), I don't listen to the radio and I Ad-Block on the internet. Did I miss something? Did she allow big business to screw us over again? Did she involve us in the politics of other countries where we had no business? Did she have herself impregnated with her own fertilized eggs so she could give birth to The Partridge Family? Did she rape someone's blind grandmother?  What did I miss?

Personally, I'd rather spend time talking about Maria De Aragon's boobs in "Blood Mania".  And they are nice!

THE MONKEES,

Sadly, they make cameo appearances on random sitcoms.  And don't they still do those concerts where they try to make a quick buck with a 'don't you remember us from 30 years ago?" style nostalgia concert?

Although, I did see Mickey Dolenz in a quick scene in Rob Zombie's Halloween remake a year ago.

This is wrong on just about every level, but, one day, when she's "of age," I'd like to see this above-mentioned motion picture come into being. Sheep n' all.

MILEY CYRUS listening to IRON MAIDEN is far less surprising than the below juxtaposition, PARIS HILTON poses holding CAPTAIN BEEFHEART's Trout Mask Replica.  Definitely a WTF? moment:

Javakoala, et al, I don't really know anything about MILEY CYRUS, but certainly have a hard time avoiding hearing about her.  I certainly bear her no ill will.  She is merely a young actress from a showbiz family that found a wonderful opportunity and seized it... what perplexed me was the idea that DISNEY came up with "Hannah Montana"  I guess merely a sign 'o' the times.

As always, it is the little things I found interesting.

Does anybody know what Lilly's parents do for a living? Not that I ever had a 16th birthday party, but if I did, my parents couldn't afford to buy out an amusement park, even as small as it was.

Mitchel Musso. I'm not in the habit of wanting young men to take their shirts off, but I'm interested in seeing how ripped he is, as I've heard he's really, really ripped.

Lucas Till. Young man's face. Old man's voice.

The egg gathering scene. Yeah, that brought back memories. Just don't gather up the wooden ones.

Ah, Hollywood. Where a woman can know as much about truck engines, as a man, and where a black man can be the mayor of a small southern town, where the majority of citizens are white.

That was a nice touch. She in her mud bath and he in his.

Only in the U.K. A Catholic girls' school. Those are thought to disappear within the next few years in the U.S.

Now I've heard everything. Urban hip hop meets country barndance.

Not that I've seen that many films this year, so I really don't have anything to compare it to, but I was surprised at the number of physical comedians in the film, and how good they were.

Anybody else NOT surprised by the reporter quitting his job at the end of the film.

Get down and boogie Barry Bostwick.

Dude, this brought tears to my eyes.  I LOVE Spice Girls. Sporty was always my favorite. And I'm hoping for a Criterion Edition of their film. Seriously. Given a couple of the movies they've done, "Spice World" isn't out of the question.

I cannot deliver judgment on this movie. While I do not condone to the view of this type of movie, it is only because I'm not exactly the "target" audience. People my age would find this movie to be a repulsive idea, youthful children will be excited to see a movie based on one of their icons. In their teen life most will find the movie revolting and wonder why they watched it. But the point is, adults have to pay for this sort of thing. Parents... Get your wallets... The kids want to see a movie about Hannah Montana.
