I just finished watching this movie with my family, and I must admit that I was totally entranced by it.  This film captures the entire dog-owning experience, from beginning to end, in a way that everyone who has ever loved a mutt can truly relate to.  It isn't some sugar-coated happy ending Hollywood formula flick, it hits the realities of pet ownership, marriage, and kids in a way few films do.  Jennifer Anniston is gorgeous (I never really saw what my friend Ray sees in her, but now I do!!) throughout the film, and Owen Wilson is alternately funny, sad, frustrated, and serious by turn. Marley chews up the scenery (and everything else in sight!) in one of the best performances ever by a canine actor (or, in this case, a whole set of canine actors!). This is simply one of the best family films I have ever seen.  All four of us were tearing up at the end!  If you haven't seen this movie, you need to!
