Title: [Article] Welcome to the Land of NOD (Not on DVD)
Post by: Kester Pelagius on April 06, 2009, 10:05:03 AM
Welcome to the Land of NOD (Not on DVD) (http://cosmic-cinema.blogspot.com/2009/04/welcome-to-land-of-nod-not-on-dvd.html): Being an article containing a list of movies not on (legit) R1 DVD as of April 2009.

I would like to expand this list to be as comprehensive as possible so if you know of any movies I've left off feel free to comment, here or on the blog, and I'll update the main list as time permits.  Thanks.

I'm kind of embarrassed to say this but..... any chance of adding "No Holds Barred" and "Immortal Combat" to your list of NOD? lol  :teddyr:

Also you can knock "Night of the Creeps" off the list! It is finally coming to DVD!

On behalf of myself and Andrew: Cast a Deadly Spell and Radioactive Dreams are long out of print.  I'd also suggest the lesser known HK flick Devil Hunters (the movies you'll find on DVD with that title are WAAAAY different).

I'll second No Holds Barred - haven't seen that in ages.
The Keep - very atmospheric '80s war/horror movie, with a soundtrack by Tangerine Dream.
Rawhead Rex
Alien Cargo
Heroes of Telemark - I guess it's got a DVD release, but the reveiwers at Amazon say the quality is abyssmal.
Chained Heat 3000
Vibes - fun lttle movie with Cyndi Lauper, Jeff Goldblum and Peter Falk
Dead Weekend
Wild Wild Planet aka I criminali della galassia - cheesy Italian sci-fi from the '60s
Snow Devils aka La morte viene dal pianeta Aytin - more cheesy Italian sci-fi from the'60s
Roller Blade Warriors - Taken By Force - the last third of the immortal Roller Blade trilogy.

Phoenix the Warrior is available on DVD under the title "She Wolves of the Wasteland".

Chained Heat 3000

Roller Blade Warriors - Taken By Force - the last third of the immortal Roller Blade trilogy.

Phoenix the Warrior is available on DVD under the title "She Wolves of the Wasteland".

I totally forgot about that Chained Heat entry.  Never have seen it. How many Chained Heat titles were there?  (Not including comic books.)

Roller Blade Warrior is not likely to get a proper DVD as, last I check, the producer/director/actor/whatever is selling DVDRs of that himself.  Though I think it (or one of the similarly titled Roller Blade movies) did pop up in one of the Brentwood 4-movie sets years ago.

But is "She Wolves of the Wasteland" the full version?  I've read conflicting reviews.  Some indicate this release looks like a TV edit version.
