I feel for you. Rumor has it I'm about to enter "Father of the Bride" mode. In fact, I have a standing date to watch "Father of the Bride" with my daughter, but we can't decide whether to go Spencer Tracy or Steve Martin.

Update: I should clarify that I feel for you on the arduous "wedding planning" road. Marriage itself is pretty cool. Weddings are fun but nuts.

I'm leaning toward the Steve Martin version because of the insane wedding planner played by Martin Short.

If she has any to begin with. My then-girlfriend looked at me kind of strangely after I took her to ATTACK OF THE KILLER TOMATOES on a date, but she married me anyway. Joe's fiancee probably is marrying him despite his interest, not because of it.

When we were dating, my wife watched cheesy movies with me all the time. She even went to Chicago with me to attend B-Fest. After getting married, it's hard to get her to watch them, with the exception of MST3K versions. Oddly enough, her sense of humour is right for cheese, but her taste in movies leans more toward costume dramas and chick flicks.

Yay!  Wedding planning is so F'n fun!  Guys shouldn't really have much to do unless you have really strong opinions on flowers. 

I didn't marry my husband for his taste in movies, but when he showed me the VHS collection in his basement I think I fell in love.  It was like being in the horror section of a giant video store in 1989.

One other thing . . . if she asks you what you want for your birthday/anniversary/Christmas gift . . .

Thanks everyone!  I would have been on yesterday, had it not been for that monster cold I came down with. 

I know we're holding off until next year for the ceremony, mainly because we want to give some of our relatives and friends who live far away some time to save up money to come out here, two of which being my sister and my best man.

Her: So how big a wedding do you want to have?
Me: I was thinking sort of medium, not huge.
Her: Me too
Me: So, like, 20 people?
Her: Hahahahahahahahahahaha......

Like Indiana said, just stand where they put you. We wrote our own vows and I was proud of what I wrote, and I helped find and select a photographer, but that was about my entire contribution.

Hmmm.  I'm guessing a congratulations are in order. 

Weddings seem fun. 

My friendship group are only just starting to make the plunge now [early to mid 20s]
