For all its flaws -- and there are many -- I have to go with "Gangs of New York" -- I can watch individual scenes in that one -- The first big fight scene/Bill the Butcher giving his patriotism lecture while wrapped in the flag/Cameron Diaz as the knife-throwing target -- over and over again, and have done so.   Many people thought Scorcese overreached himself and tried to cram in too much, but I even forgive it things like DeCaprio's obviously fake wax-looking scars.

I actually agree that some scenes in that film are simply brilliant, but I find the film as a whole monumentally unsatisfying.

For my money, Taxi Driver.  I must admit though, I haven't seen all of Casino or Goodfellas (take a few film classes in college and you'll end up seeing pieces of both over and over), so perhaps that is unfair.

I'm a Goodfellas man. It's all good but that's my favorite. Although now that I think of it, King of Comedy was really good too. Like all prophetic and s**t, man.

I'd probably go with TAXI DRIVER if pressed.  But I really have a soft spot for the early 80s black comedies: KING OF COMEDY and AFTER HOURS.  And I haven't even seen THE LAST TEMPTATION OF CHRIST.

This is really tough to decide, but I'll go with TAXI DRIVER.  I also think MEAN STREETS is an extremely interesting low-budget effort.  Every time I watch it I find something new to like about it.  Some of the scenes and dialogue are really memorable and the characters are very amusing.

If you liked The Departed you should watch Infernal Affairs. Departed is a remake of Infernal Affairs and I think it's better but they are both good films.

Anyway, I'd go with Goodfellas or Taxi Driver.

Taxi Driver is definitely my favorite of Scorcese, but Raging Bull and Goodfellas is up there too.  I really enjoyed Mean Streets too... Hell, I've enjoyed all of his films that I've seen, I guess.

No love for ALICE DOESN'T LIVE HERE ANYMORE? Or THE LAST WALTZ?  I also like RAGING BULL and THE KING OF COMEDY... How about CAPE FEARTHE AGE OF INNOCENCE? Okay, I like TAXI DRIVER best, too.

I recently watched Casino, Goodfellas, and Raging Bull.

But, my opinion hasn't changed.  Taxi Driver is still his best film.

Goodfellas is the most watchable film, for me anyway. Taxi Driver comes in at a close second though.

I'd have to go with Raging Bull. Although I do think Goodfellas is an excellent film, I always find myself getting bored with it.

I'd pick "Casino". It comes off as a bit of a self-indulgent film because of its running time, but the casting of Joe Pesci as a heavy and Sharon Stone as a mobster's trophy wife are genious, and so is the camerawork in almost every scene.

I enjoyed "Gangs of New York" a lot, despite its flaws. I think stuff like "The aviator" and "The departed" is far worse.
