I picked "over 1 year ago."  I'm not sure if this is accurate, but I can't remember the last time I puked, so I assume it's been at least a year. 

I last puked  about 6 months up to a year ago.

I was out at a Mexican restaurant with some friends. I guess I had been coming down with a stomach bug and didn't realize it until while I was eating there. All of a sudden I had to make a mad dash to the bathroom and puked like there was no tomorrow in the toilet.

The thing I hate most about puking is it coming out of your nose. You smell it for hours afterwards. 

I haven't puked in years, though I have had some close calls.  Alcohol was the culprit the last time.  Since I quit drinking irresponsibly, I haven't had cause to puke.  I haven't puked from bad food or a stomach virus since I was a little kid.

The last time I blew grits was in 1993, when I was living in Key West. Somebody at dinner kept giving me glasses of, well, something mixed with cheap red wine. After about fifteen minutes I went into the bathroom and projectile vomited up what seemed like gallons of dark purple liquid. I felt much better afterward and so continued with my evening, even finishing my dinner.

I haven't vomited since. I guess I blew out my vomit gasket, or something.

I don't remember why I puked the last time I did, but I'm 99.9999999999999% sure it had something to do with alcohol.

I can't remember when the last time was, but I thought this thread was as good of a place as any to let everyone know that I was the kid that barfed on the schoolbus two or three times a week when I was a kid. Yep, , that was me. . .

Was over Thanksgiving... after dinner a bunch of friends and I went to  Devil's Point (Portland, OR)... When I got home i puked all over a collection of movies my friend had brought over... Man it sucked cleaning those the next day.

Ah, the famous puke story.

You see, I don't drink, but every now and then I get these NASTY stomach bugs . . .

and the thing is, I can't hurl quietly.  I let loose with this tremendous  HHHCCCHHHHOOORRRGGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   :buggedout:  :buggedout: sound that lets everyone within a tri-state area know that I am blowing chunks.

One time, when I was working at a downtown museum in Greenville, TX, I got hit very hard by a stomach virus right after finishing lunch (an entire medium hamburger and mushroom pizza).  I was up in the front part of the museum, and the bathroom was in the very back, and I knew that there was no way I could make it all the way to the potty.  So, in desperation,  I ran out the front door of the museum, grabbed a street sign there at the corner of Lee and Johnson, and heaved until I felt my shoes come flying out my mouth.  Traffic was pulling up to a halt, attorneys walking down the steps of the courthouse across the street ceased their legalese and pointed in wonder, and a carload of Japanese tourists began taking pictures.  A family coming up the walk towards the museum got back in their car and drove off.  Utterly miserable, I stuffed my colon back down my throat, fished my shoes out of the steaming mound and put them back on, and walked back in to work.  My boss stood there, barring my way, and said "GO HOME!! Don't touch anything, don't breathe on anything, just GO HOME!"
She was always a very understanding lady.
I got in the car to drive to my old place, about 12 minutes away.  Halfway home, I pulled over and heaved again - it hit me before I could pull all the way over and get the door open, so the floorboard got to bear the load that time. I thought to myself - I don't think I could feel any worse if I tried.  Then the diarrhea hit.  :bluesad:

 I got home, shed my clothes in a pile just inside the door and told my wife to burn them or turn them over to the military as a biological weapon.  Then I turned on the water, and crawled in the tub . . . where I heaved AGAIN!  I was so weak and exhausted at that point I couldn't even lean forward to hit the toilet - so I pulled the plug, turned on the shower, and let the water sluice the thoroughly blown chunks off my body.  :question:

Then I went to bed and slept for two days, and felt better.  :smile:

Haha!  Japanese tourists taking pictures of you spewing.  Somewhere in Japan, in someone's photo album, there is a picture of you heaving your guts out.   :bouncegiggle:

I remember one time at a local nightclub when I was drinking heavily and puked.
It was closing time and they were kicking everyone out.
All of a sudden my mouth was completely filled with puke.  So full that my cheeks were blown out like a squirrell's and I had to hold my hand over my mouth. 
I couldn't go to the bathroom because it was all the way on the other side of the club.
So, I frantically searched around for something to barf into but couldn't find anything.
After about 10-20 seconds with a mouthful of puke, I passed a table with a half-eaten bowl of popcorn, grabbed it and spit all of that barf into it.
To this day, I always think of the poor waitress who found it and had to dispose of it.

A puke story by proxy.

When I was home on summer break from college in 2000, my dad and I went out to dinner with my my aunt, my cousin and my cousin's two children, her daughter, then four, and her son, who was under a year. We were all done eating and I was looking out of the corner of my eye at my watch because I was supposed to split and meet some people, and long story short, I ended up being passed my cousin's little son, Tyler, and just as I was taking him, right as he was in my hands, facing me, he "spat up" as they say, ALL over my hair. Miserable mess. I went into the restroom and rinsed the hurl out and even had a little bottle of shampoo I used, then went ahead and met up with the people I was supposed to but all night I kept worrying they could somehow smell baby yak in my hair.

I ended up watching Tyler a lot for Dana a couple years on down the road and he was always getting me to tell him the tale of him barfing in my hair at a restaurant. Thought it was hilarious, he did...

Last time I puked was a couple of months ago. Stomach bug. Followed by a couple of days of the s**ts. Lovely. The part I hate most is the dry heaving after everything is up. Had the same bug last year, but had the misfortune of eating a huge plate of Chinese food before that one hit.

Going back a few years, I can think of a few good drunken puking stories. In particular, there was a buddy of mine who would inevitably puke at the end of any party, often in some extraordinary place.

I remember sitting across the table from him at a stag when he was more or less face-down on the table. Suddenly, everybody at the table jumps up as a pool of puke radiates out from him. That one had the added bonus of a couple of us taking him home and putting him to bed as he rambled on about what good friends we were.

On another occasion, several of us were sharing a motel room on a winter snowmobile trip. Naturally, the booze was flowing and we were showing off. My friend, in particular, thought it was funny to eat peanuts without removing the shells, and had quite a few that way, along with a fair bit of rye and coke. In the middle of the night, he rolls over and pukes on the radiator. Lovely. Actually, we all made a real mess of that room, and felt pretty guilty as the cleaning lady went in while we were out starting up our sleds. We apologized to her later, but she said she'd seen worse.

Probably the best story was from a camping trip we took on a long weekend around 1990 or thereabouts. It was at a campground with a restaurant in the main building, and we all went up for some bacon and eggs in the morning, along with plenty of juice and coffee for our hangovers. My buddy, who was celebrating a birthday the night before, and thus had every kind of alcohol poured into him, was in particularly rough shape. He was feeling sick when he went to sleep, and another friend told him that food would soak up the booze and settle his stomach, then proceeded to feed him a bunch of peanut butter cereal squares. :buggedout:  Since the only tent was flooded by heavy rain early in the evening, we slept in cars. Now, on the way to breakfast, my friend is sure that he puked in the back seat of his car, but he couldn't find anything when he woke up. We sit down and start eating, and there is a definite smell of puke. My friend checks himself over and can't find any, and we continue eating breakfast. Eventually, one of the other guys tracks down the smell. My friend was wearing a hoodie at the time. During the night, he somehow puked into his hood and was walking around with it still in there!

When I was a baby, I spat up on a clown who was marching in a parade.  He came over to where my parents were standing with me and tried to "cootchy-coo" me or something.  My mother still has the 8mm home movie reel that shows part of this incident.  The camera quickly went off when I started spewing on the clown.

It was just this last Friday - was having a few beers, then ate a bunch of Cheeto's before bed.  In the middle of the night my stomach decided it wasn't very fond of that combination.  Wasn't much of a puke though, on a scale of 1-10 I'd only give it a 3. 

I've decided I must have taste buds in my nose.

It's been in the past month. Ate something that didn't agree with me. Namely a McDonald's hamburger cause my wife likes to refuse to believe that the reason I never buy that clown food is cause it makes me sick like that. I think I proved my point by barfing it up but I seriously doubt it. I figure she will block that out and buy it again in the near future.

I puked about 6 months ago.  Almost puked the other night.  Sometimes if I eat something an hour or two before bed and lay a certain way, I get awful indigestion.  If I'm lucky it will pass, if not I'll be puking well into the morning hours. 

The last time I had a throat straining, underpants constricting hurl of all hurls (three, one after the other and then the dry heaves and then, brown stains on the lilywhite underpants) was in Bloemfontein in July last year. It was a Saturday and my day went like this:

I had breakfast at 07h00.
I took my colleague to the airport at 08h00.
She left at 10h00 and I went back to the hotel.
I had several film screenings that day.
Aside from breakfast, I ate nothing.
At 18h00, I had dinner.
All i had was a steak, fries (or chips as we call them here) and a nice cold Coke.

At 20h00 I was in so much agony, I couldn't stand up straight or walk correctly.
Called the front desk, the medics came within 20 minutes.
Before they came, I projectile vomited into the toilet three times, each time spewing up chunks of what looked like rotten meat.
Luckily I remembered to take my teeth out or I would have had a plumbing problem too.

The paramedics took me to the hospital and I spent an hour on a saline IV.

Not pleasant, I can tell you.

My last time was about a year ago, and it was probably botulism from a pork dish at a restaurant.  Don't think I've ever had that before; it is a miserable thing to get.  Along with the gastrointestinal issues, you get some toxic effects like vertigo and an impairment of higher functions.

Hmmm... after work christmas party went out after and 'did the business' on some small stairs going up to the bathroom.  It was quite tactical actually in that it happened to be a moment when nobody was looking, and allowed me to continue on drinking.  I feel quite terrible about it however and deliberately left a big tip upon leaving to make myself feel morally better.

Wow a whole thread full of TMI (too much information) about my fellow bad movie lovers! Does it get any more companionable than that?

It's been so long for me I can't remember, unless you count coughing really hard after a big meal so some comes back on you. I don't think that counts. Whenever it was, it would have had something to do with illness. I do get headaches with nausea, sometimes pretty bad nausea, but never enough to actually put me over the edge for some reason.

I used to get motion sick as a kid, when reading on buses. For some reason that went away. I don't even get seasick, apparently.

Can't remember the last time for sure, but I do know that I hate puking.  My body functions seem to violent in nature, whether it's sneezing, coughing or throwing up.

I hate throwing up because it feels like someone is trying to pull my nuts up through my esophagus.

When this discussion runs its course how 'bout a "Your Worst Case of Diarrhea" thread?

The absolute worst for me was in Aruba.  The wife and I went on a snorkling adventure and had (and I take full responsibility for myself on this) egg salad they were serving.  That night she started and I just figured it was her weak stomach acting up.  One hour later, I was double ending all night long.   Luckily this was at the end of the vacation because it literally took me about 3 weeks to get my body back up to par. 

All I know is I will NEVER eat egg salad again unless I make it.

My 2nd worst puke story was when i drank a ton at one of my first "grown-up" weddings. I also ate a bunch of broccoli. wish I would have chewed that broccoli a little more.

But my worst puke story was when the 17 year cicadas were coming out of the ground, years ago. I worked at a zoo and every department had their own softball team. After a game we all went to the bar and I noticed a bunch of guys from the grounds crew had a paper grocery bag on their table and they were poppinig something from it into their mouths and washing it down with a full beer. Turns out they had a bag-ful of cicadas. I joined in the fun and downed about 20 cicadas chased with 20 beers.
  I did drive home on my own(you kids of today know better) and calmly parked my car, got out and walked straight to the garden, where I bent over and ralphed up all 20 beers, every drop AND all 20 cicadas, wings, legs antennae, everything. The worst part was that the legs and wings and head kept sticking in my throat or clogging my nostrils so I had a bit of a vomit log jam situation. Lived thru it thought, and learned one IMPORTANT lesson: Drinking and insectivoring DO NOT MIX. :thumbdown:

Good to know I'm not the only insectivorous one here -- though I've never gotten around to eating cicadas...my understanding though is that they can taste like asparagus? Fried crickets are my personal favorite. 

I chundered this morning.  One might suspect that this would have something to do with having sweet and sour chicken and pork-fried rice for dinner, and a couple hours later (having eaten the Chinese while on a date, and meeting up with some bar-bound friends after taking the lady home) having beer and chili cheese fries at a local bar before going to bed.  But apparently not -- all I expectorated was stomach acid and mucus that had leaked from my congested sinuses down into my digestive tract.

Here's a nice puke story. In about 1991...on Christmas Eve,somebody gave me a jug of home-made wine. A buddy stopped over with a 5th of Whiskey that night,and me and him drank that whole gallon of wine AND the 5th. I had eaten a ham dinner before I started drinking. I woke up the next morning knelling on the floor with my head resting in my LAY-Z Boy...with big ol' chunks of ham and boiled potatoes dried up in my hair and on the chair seat.  :bluesad:

UPDATE:Damn, it smells...

OK, on the weekend, I didn't puke, but sure felt like it was a possibility.

It started when my in-laws arrived just before the Easter weekend. Among the stuff they brought was a frozen, unbaked apple pie from a grocery store. I had dessert pretty well covered, so we didn't use it. Somebody put it in the crisper of the refrigerator, rather than in the freezer. Cut to last weekend. I notice the pie and figure I'd better bake it before it goes bad. I do, and let it cool in the fridge overnight.

Here's where the fun begins. Rowan and I are looking for a snack the following day, so I cut a couple of pieces of pie. While she's fiddling with her fork, I take a big bite of mine and notice it tastes funny, kind of musty. Actually, it tastes very musty, almost like dirt. I lift up the top crust of the pie and find a solid layer of mould. I'm talking thick, fuzzy, bluish-grey fungus. Thankfully it was at least baked, so I assume it was dead, but no telling what toxins it might have had in it. I quietly scooped up Rowan's piece before she ate any, explaining that it was no good (I had to promise her we'd bake another pie the following day), and tossed it all in the garbage.

So, for the next hour or two, I walked around with a semi-queasy feeling, surprisingly not too bad. My stomach started to ache for a bit. I don't know if that was real or psychological. For the first couple of minutes, though, I was sure vomiting was a serious possibility, if not an appropriate course of action. I suppressed it, figuring a little mould (actually a lot) wouldn't hurt me, and even more concerned about tasting it again coming up.

Grossest thing to happen to me in a long time, by far.

Last time  I puked was a few months back.  My favorite bartender of all time made me a Long Island Iced Tea.  Fantastic.  It tasted so good that I asked for another.  By the time I finished the second, I was feeling pretty good and figured I could handle another.  I sat there for a while after the third, and figured I was already on the way to being drunk so, what the hell? I think somewhere in the middle of the fourth Iced Tea, I became possessed or stupid or both. I asked for a fifth. My lovely bartender looked at me and said, "Are you sure?" "Why not? It isn't like I'm driving, right?"

I've drank a fifth of Jack Daniels once and thought I could NEVER feel that messed up again. WRONG, WRONG, WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!

I made it home and was still feeling pretty upbeat. I sat down at the computer and started chatting with a friend. Suddenly the sides of the room switched places and took my stomach along for the ride. Then the room started rolling like the house in "Twister".

I remember thinking, "I don't remember eating THIS much throughout the entire DAY!" Then I woke up a couple of times because some jackass was moaning and crying. Funny how he stopped when I woke up.

Woke up at 7 the next morning, hungry as hell and rode my bike to the far side of town to eat a HUGE breakfast at McD's and see my beautiful love of life.

I'm doing good to down two beers in an evening after that. Puking makes me sick.

anyway...got a quite nasty stomach bug between the 15 and 17th, but the weird thing is that I was feeling better then ever on the 16th, but woke up 2 in the morning the 17th and was sick like a dog.

I very rarely puke. I just can't bring my self to do it, its so unpleasent. I usually don't get sick and probably went for a good 5 years with out puking until the last few years when I moved out of my parents house. My mothers a clean freak and living in a close quarters much less unsanitary enviroment got me really sick. Luckly this year I managed to avoid the flew or food poisoning.

Last month when I was really ill. I had a very bad bug, so for a change it wasn't brought on by obscene leves of drinking.  :teddyr: I hate actually puking, but it kinda feels good when it's over. Like you have survived something horrific, with just a bit of a sore throat to show for it. 

There is a definite sense of relief afterward, especially if you have a bad stomach ache and nausea for a couple of hours beforehand. Funny, I always try to keep it down as long as I can to avoid that minute or so of pain and discomfort, but when it's over, I'm very glad.
