Title: 36 trillion dollar tax cut
Post by: lester1/2jr on April 15, 2009, 09:59:15 AM
This is, I believe, the all time greatest column.   i've adjusted it for inflation but the conclusions are indeed timeless.  Indianasmith and some others don't like this type of thing and it of course has no place in a badmovies forum but I don't care!!  I'm too much of a snob to attend the FOX engineered tea parties so this is my contribution to all taht

Bulldoze the Beltway!! (http://www.mises.org/article.aspx?Id=633&FS=A+$21+Trillion+Tax+Cut)

this chart shows the department, what it doesn't do, and how much we'd save by getting rid of it

I checked the federal debt not too long ago, it was 10.5 trillion.  Now I see it's 11.2 trillion (Well, it's 11.199 trillion at this moment, so it won't hit 11.2 trillion for an hour or so).  The only way spending will ever be cut is with a complete economic meltdown and total restructuring of the government, and that's pretty much 100% inevitable.

The Biblical concept of a Year of Jubilee is looking better and better . . .

cancel all debts, worldwide, and start over again.

Never happen in a million years, but it would be cool.

The Department of Energy was formed by Carter in 1977 to reduce the US dependency on foreign oil, the correct amount of the cost of the DOE is $24.5 Billion a year, it has 16,000 Federal Employees and over 100,000 independent contractor and since 1977 the U.S. dependency on foreign oil has doubled.

So good job to the DOE for doing nothing, and the government thinks they can run banks.

You want to cut $5+ Billion a year from the budget right away and not really irk many American on the right or left, stop funding the UN.
