It has been a while since I bought an album and it was probably back in Decmeber when I had Christmas money to blow.  The albums were Folie A Duex by Fall Out Boy and Prospekt's March by Coldplay.

As for a physical CD, I haven't bought one in so long that I don't remember.

I buy CDs all the time... my latest: STAN KENTON Artistry In Rhythm (yeh, REV, oop, but found a sealed copy  :teddyr:)

I have only the three remastered original albums - which I love - plus the CD release of the DAVID BOWIE mix of Raw Power (IGGY did a better job, despite naysayers).  I'd grab the bootleg Rough Power any day if I saw it at a flea market...

I buy music often. I buy Vinyl because underground/D.I.Y. punk/hardcore bands still sell 7'(EP)and 12'(LP) formats. The last thing I bought was:

Boiling Over-Trash City EP
Endless Blockade-Primitive CD

I've cut down on my music buying habits over the years due various financial priorities, but I still get things fairly regularly.  I mostly hunt for used CDs or bargain bin stuff.  I kind of miss the days of dropping nearly $50 a week at the local record store.

Within the past month or so I've gotten these:

Return of the Living Dead soundtrack
Kentucky Colonels - Appalachian Swing!
The Church - Beside Yourself
The Church - Untitled #23
Zawinul Syndicate - Black Water -- I don't care for it much but it was only 25 cents
Genesis - Three Sides Live
The Refreshments - Fizzy, Fuzzy, Big & Buzzy
Kenny Werner - Lawn Chair Society
Cream - Disraeli Gears
R.E.M. - Murmur
Steve Kilbey & Martin Kennedy - Unseen Music Unheard Words
Zachary J. Mechlem - The Haight Gang

Today I picked up a greatest hits cd by Talk Talk.  I had forgotten how all around great this British band was.  I also ordered a copy of John Fogerty's Eye of the Zombie today as well.

Starting to realise now, that most of my favourite rock artists are Canadian. Even though, this is more commercial than her earlier work and not jazz like her later work, Lee Aaron will always be my "Metal Queen".

Torgo, Talk Talk have quickly become one of my absolute favorite bands recently. Granted, I downloaded a few of their albums, but man oh man are they INCREDIBLE! Spirit Of Eden and Laughing Stock are two of the most brilliant unclassifiable albums I've ever heard.Their record company sued them because they thought SOE wasn't "commercial" enough. The Color Of Spring is excellent as well, even though it's slightly more "pop" than the other two. Mark Hollis has such a nice distinctive voice. It's a shame they're not around anymore.  :bluesad:
Anyway, I recently ordered Amoeba's - "Pivot" off eBay. Excellent band who were also influenced by Talk Talk.

I'd highly recommend Mark Hollis's solo effort from 98' also.

Funny, a little while ago, I started revisiting a lot of Canadian bands of the 80s, and I was amazed at just how many of the songs on the radio were homegrown back then. Canada put out a lot of great talent in the 80s. Actually, from the late 60s to the mid-90s, there was a lot of good stuff. I don't know what the hell happened that we started getting Nickelback and Simple Plan and crap like that.

Anyway, speaking of Canadian rock bands of the 80s, the last album I bought was The Best of Prism, which I found for $10 on the weekend. I already have some of their music, but this was a nice collection, and I needed to grab something to play in the car.

This just arrived in the mail yesterday, in time for me to take it along on some business today that required an hour's drive each way. Been looking for this soundtrackon CD off and on for years, and must have played "Over Me" at least a dozen times today. I passed a lot of heavy construction equipment on the highway, and it kind of made me chuckle. No urge to drive into any bulldozers though. :teddyr:

Last three I bought:
Subterranean Jungle by The Ramones.  Not their best cd, but has some decent songs, particularly "Outsider", "Highest Trails Above" and "Psycho Therapy." 3 stars outta five.

Bring It On! by HorrorPops.  Decent cd by this German indiepunk/psychobilly/new wave type of band.  Signed on Hellcat Records, owned by Rancid.

Incredibad by The Lonely Island.  The Lonely Island is a comedy rap trio, headed up by Andy Samberg (of SNL fame), and his friends Jorma and Akiva (writers on SNL).  Features appearances by Norah Jones, E-40 (rapper), T-Pain (rapper with a ton of hit songs), Jack Black, Justin Timberlake, and Natalie Portman (who makes her rap debut singing about her time at Harvard sleeping with every guy, shooting puppies, and doing cocaine.) :teddyr:

Found this thread searching for a STAN KENTON pic (I'm listening to Artistry In Rhythm)...

I bought: JOHN ZACHERLE Monster Mash coupled with his third album Scary Tales.  I have the first one on vinyl (and created a cassette tape I used to play to death...)  Purchased new around October, I haven't even opened this one yet.

Also, ESQUIVEL Cabaret Manana; I don't like it much.
I've been buying ROLLING STONES CDs (mostly used) replacing stuff I had on vinyl years ago, and even buying albums I never owned (like Dirty Work and Tattoo You)... Here's what I've picked up and been listening to almost non-stop:

Off The Deep End by "Weird Al" Yankovic.  His 1992 release, with the "Smells Like Teen Spirit" parody, "Smells Like Nirvana."  I found it used, so I picked it up.  I had only previously owned his albums on cassette, but my tape player no longer works, so I've been re-collecting them on cd.

Something For Everybody by Devo.  Their latest release from late last year.  Good cd.

Been on a vinyl kick.  Majority of them were under a buck.

Few weeks ago:
Brand X - Moroccan Roll
Kate Bush - The Dreaming

Frank Sinatra - Sings Only for the Lonely
Marillion - Script for a Jester's Tear
Sergio Mendes and Brasil '66 - Foursider
It's a Beautiful Day - self-titled

Today:
The Blasters - self-titled
Justin Hayward & John Lodge - Blue Jays
Os Mutantes - A Divina Comédia ou Ando Meio Desligado (had to copy-paste that title!)
Claudine Longet - Colours

I've also discovered that I seem to enjoy cleaning records for hours on end.

It took me two years to find this. Got it for $11.99, a good deal considering the fact that this album is pretty rare.

Lucky you. I've been lookin' for a copy of that one (at a decent price) for ages as well. I finally bummed a CD-R off of a friend a couple of years ago because I figure at this rate I'm never gonna find one.
