Title: JUST BURIED (2007)
Post by: indianasmith on June 05, 2009, 11:13:01 AM
OK, try to imagine ARSENIC AND OLD LACE and FARGO combining plotlines and taking place in a funeral home.

That is as near as I can come to describing this funny, quirky little dark comedy starring Jay Baruchel as a hypochondriac, uptight grocery clerk who inherits his estranged father's funeral home business.  He quickly falls in love with the hot but creepy mortician, Roberta Knickle (played by Rose Byrn), but is also being seduced by his father's hot young widow, Luanne.  All the while trying to keep his funeral home in business by going out with Roberta and . . .  shall we say, agressively recruiting more clients?  This is a really, really funny film.  Nigel Bennet plays Roberta's dad, the local police chief, and Brian Downey has a hilarious supporting role as retired children's TV star, Pickles the Clown.

Full of unexpected twists and turns and some death scenes that are funny and gory at the same time, this movie is a real treat for fans of dark comedy.

You definitely need to check it out.
