Title: Ever googled your name? Post by: Trevor on June 11, 2009, 08:01:12 AM I did once and found some strange things indeed.
According to Google, I have namesakes who are directors of mental health organizations, basketball players and a bass guitarist for a group called Bad To Da Bone. :buggedout: Where the Google search finds the real Trevor Moses, it's mostly my reviews that come up or films that I've tried not to wreck while working on. :teddyr: The one that always makes me laugh is my name appearing in an IMDB review of A Dry White Season where the reviewee cr*pped all over me and my standpoint on the film. I said that "it was a film about racists, made by a racist filmmaker" and this person said that I should get my facts right as 1. It is not a film made by a racist filmmaker and 2. Robert Redford worked for nothing on the film. Mr Redford had nothing to do with that film, it was Marlon Brando who did in fact not ask a fee for appearing in this film, but he did bring his own portable toilet to the set. :buggedout: :buggedout: Title: Re: Ever googled your name? Post by: Jack on June 11, 2009, 08:19:15 AM According to the IMDb, I appeared in the film Sam and Janet, and my popularity is up 304% this week!

Vito Salamone "is close with members and associates of Chicago LCN," the other FBI report said. It also said Vito Salamone was president and Joseph Salamone was secretary of a company that operated a restaurant in Addison "known to the FBI as being a meeting place of Chicago LCN." My name turns up a IMDB listing, two wikipedia pages, and 271,000 other assorted hits. Well, okay, I guess that technically that's not really my name as I didn't type in my full legal name as it appears on my driver's license. . Holy Crap! Someone with my EXACT SAME name (middle initial and everything) has a facebook page. Hmm. How the #!$! does one view a facebook page. Ah well. Let's see someone else with my EXACT SAME name apparently has taken out some patents. There's an Amazon profile, an Anesthesiologist, a dentist, a cardiac surgeon, a page for someone that has a contempt of court writ against them, but. . Kester Pelagius is ALL me. In fact the very first hit for Kester Pelagius was: http://www.badmovies.org/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=1120 How about that! Title: Re: Ever googled your name? Post by: BTM on June 12, 2009, 01:09:09 PM One of the few advantages to having a name that's so insanely common as mine that some people even think I'm lying when I tell them who I am (Mike Smith), is that I'm almost impossible to google. At least, google and get the REAL me.
Sometimes I think though maybe I should find info on some other MS who's done really well in his life somehow or other and use that to somehow post my resume/life options/fame or something. :) Title: Re: Ever googled your name? Post by: trekgeezer on June 12, 2009, 01:53:12 PM I've done this before. This time a site came up called intelius which listed the last four towns I've lived in and my wife and kids names.

This time a site came up called intelius which listed the last four towns I've lived in and my wife and kids names. There should be a law against these sort of sites. Although I did learn that someone with my exact same name lives in Niceville, FL. Do you suppose the town really is nice? Title: Re: Ever googled your name? Post by: Saucerman on June 13, 2009, 09:33:04 AM My first name is one of the most common associated with my last name -- we tend to be Johns, Henrys, and Williams (I'm a William). There's an anaesthesiologist, a bio-chemistry research scientist, a lawyer, and several soldiers sharing my name.
Freakiest was discovering that there was someone with the exact same name as me born in North Dakota 99 years to the day before I was born. He passed away three months before my father was born. Post by: Psycho Circus on June 15, 2009, 03:40:11 PM I have apparently written a book about Vlad The Impaler, appeared in Zorro, Coronation Street and Sliders. I also do landscape photography in my spare time whilst holding down a job as a database manager. :bouncegiggle:
I apparently look like this: (http://myprofile-images.ncl.ac.uk/MYPROFILE/photo_upload/14781_7612_20080610092714.jpg) Or sometimes like this when I'm feeling moody: (http://m.gmgrd.co.uk/res/130.$plit/C_71_article_505558_body_articleblock_0_bodyimage.jpg) Title: Re: Ever googled your name? Title: Re: Ever googled your name? Post by: InformationGeek on June 18, 2009, 03:45:10 PM From my research, I am a UCF linebacker who is majoring in criminal justice, I'm a sales representative from Califorina, a stage actor in New York, I stared in Reel Zombies (Sorry, I can't get you guys any free copies) and most interestingly, I am in a Chinese Boxing Club.
Oh yeah, I'm the person in middle apparently: (http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3285/3310121121_077052237a.jpg) The only logical reason for the picture is obviously I have some sort of Dr. Jeckyl and Ms. Hyde or Ranma 1/2 thing going on. Of course, my mug shot as well. (http://www.ticic.state.tn.us/sorsql?sql=sp_SOR_IMAGE+%2700159721%27&contenttype=image/jpeg) Darn, I keep aging up and down so quickly. Post by: Ash on June 19, 2009, 03:30:15 PM There's actually a term recently entered into the Oxford English Dictionary for people who look themselves up online.
It's called "ego-surfing". Read about it HERE (http://www.usatoday.com/tech/news/2003-08-21-new-words_x.htm). Whenever I've entered my name, it usually comes up with the real me. After that, it comes up with a jazz musician named Jamey Aebersold. My first name is Jamey, but my last name isn't Aebersold. I recently searched for my name on Facebook and found 5-6 other guys named Jamey Davis. I have this weird urge to add them all as friends. :tongueout: Title: Re: Ever googled your name? Post by: Rev. If I do my name in database format (last name first), I get a database of my father's lifetime (same name) and nothing else.
Beyond this, apparently I'm a member of a band named Sorry About Dresden. I also, as a teenager, worked at a prison. Best of all, I've been hosting a radio show for over 35 years! I'm a busy man. Post by: Monster Jungle X-Ray on June 26, 2009, 05:45:48 AM I just happen to share a name with a former English gangster whom the band Rancid wrote a song about. At first it was disconcerting, but then I figured there's no way I could be mistaken for this guy if I ever flew to the UK.
Here's the chorus to the song : Well all you motherf**kers, criminals will be suckers If you don't step aside for David Courtney Well all you motherf**kers, criminals will be suckers If you don't step aside for David Courtney Makes me feel kind of warm inside :teddyr: Title: Re: Ever googled your name?
