Title: Shatner flips off Conan on the Tonight Show
Post by: trekgeezer on June 19, 2009, 08:08:24 AM
I can't for the life of me believe how many people are taking this stunt seriously. Shatner has been on Conan's show many times and this was all in fun with Bill playing his Bill character.   By the way Shatner has admitted for many years that he can't do the Vulcan salute.  They had to tie his fingers together for Spock's death scene in TWOK.

Check it out for yourself  and look at some of the news links

Here's the youtube for those outside the US that can't see HULU

In the film Free Enterprise, a rather dopey PA goes to Mr Shatner's trailer to call him onset and all the PA can hear is him saying to Deborah van Valkenburgh:

WS: "Spread 'em, spread em! Wider, wider!"
DVV: [moaning] "Ow, owww..."
WS: "C'mon, wider, wider....."

The PA opens the trailer door to find Deborah forcing apart WS's fingers so that he can make the Vulcan salute........ :teddyr:

People always take the schtick seriously.  I don't get it either.

100%. The guy took alot of crap at his roast, he clearly has a sense of humor, and not easily offended. Even though sometimes it seems like we see too much of him at times, he always has a great attitude, much of what he's done is self-deprecating. He clearly doesn't take himself too seriously.
