Indiana Jones 5? But there wasn't even a 4. (Thank god for selective amnesia.)

let this franchise die already.     Thanks to the last one Im stuck with a 300.00 sideshow collectible Indiana Jones figure that I cant get rid of. No on wants to buy it now. Shame really because the first three were great movies but once again Hollywood does not know the meaning of the word stop.

I feel the same when it comes to the Die Hard franchise.

I liked the 4th one. Yes it's the weakest of the four but it still delivered on what they promised it would.  It was fun.

I can't say that I have much of an opinion on 5.  It could be good (Highlight "could"), but it might be pretty bad.  Number 4 wasn't that special in anyway, but it certianly was something (Something BAD).

Nah, it was good, but who the hell knows with number 5.

I'm hoping they learn from the mistakes they made in 4 and improve for this one. But i'm not keeping my fingers crossed.

OK, even though Shia LaBeef is the source for this story, can we still hope he isn't in the cast?

After his stupid comment that "everyone dropped the ball on this one" I would hope he isn't in it.  :buggedout:

I'm just really worried that he's in line to be the new Indy at some point. Why people insist on starring Shia LaBoeuf in action movies is a mystery. He's like Don Knotts without the charm or comic talent. Good at playing a non-threatening, panicky doofus, but not really a credible action hero.

Will E.T. come back to Earth for this movie? Ha ha ha.

I bet I can predict the future. Russians and or Nazis will be in the next movie.

I didn't think Crystal Skull was that bad.

This probably won't be good at all mind you.

Reasons:

-Redundant
-Harrison Ford is OLD
-4 was supposed to be the last one
-Harrison Ford is OLD
-The critics didn't like the 4th one
-Harrison Ford is OLD
-Ever since Star Wars Episode 1 nobody has trusted Lucas' judgment
-Ford ain't getting any younger
-It's not necessary
-Harrison Ford is...! Awww forget it...
-Only die hard fans that love all the movies without exception would dare go see it

La la la I'm NOT LISTENING!!! I'M NOT Listening!!

I thought  Cystal Skull tanked in theaters, at least compared the other Indy films. Is this becoming like the Star Wars franchise and their trying to milk the Indiana Jones series corpse for all its worth?

The movie made close to 800 million dollars.  The other movies made over 400 or 300 million dollars.  Crystal Skull was the most successful moneywise, so no.  This movie did not tank.

Frankly, I liked a lot 4 (my review says 2 out of 4, but to me it is a 4 out of 4 since I can overlook the problems just because I enjoyed it.).  I can understand why people blow a gasket or throw a fit over the movie, but I do not hold the original 3 movies up on a high pedstal like everyone does apparently.  The movies are all about fun times, taking you on an adventure, seeing awesome and impossible action scenes, and wishing you are Indiana Jones; which 4 delievered on to me at least.

I've heard people say that on this forum several times.  It really isn't true.

I thought it entertaining, but the weakest of the four.  7/10 from me, though they kind of stretched for that with the bad ending and quicksand scene.

Critic's DID the like the 4th one? I thought all they did was b***h about the aliens and the fridge scene. That's what this is all about. The two big complaints. Maybe the new one will do something other than aliens and Mayans. I didn't mind the aliens. I fail to see how they're out of place. Jones WAS looking for a religious artifact, Mayans are famed for possibly having alien gods, and the physical impossibilities are abundant in ALL Indiana Jones films.

Indiana Jones myths that have been busted:

-Jumping out a plane with a life raft
-Tripping a motorcycle and making if flip with a poll
Etc.
Etc....

You are thinking of the Internet population.  They hate those two things and seem to never discuss anything else about the film.  They rather beat that dead horse then discuss anything else, other than possibly Shiaf Bouf or however you spell that name.

It's funny, I thought the fridge scene was ridiculous, but only marginally more so than the life raft scene in Temple of Doom.  It didn't wreck the movie for me.

What damaged it were a number of scenes that just feel really "off" somehow (like the quicksand scene), some pacing issues, bad comedy, a very weak climax, the least interesting villains of the series, an uncharismatic sidekick (not LaBeuf's fault, but when Shortround is more charismatic and likable, it's kind of a weak character) and not enough Indy action.  I mean, Indiana doesn't shoot ANYBODY.  Lame.    :twirl:

But, it's still an entertaining film overall, and I thought Harrison Ford was still great in the role.
