Title: Post here if it's a slow day
Post by: Doggett on June 23, 2009, 01:44:52 PM
Ever have days on this site where not a lot seems to be happening.
Y'know, there are hardly any new posts or topics, that sort of thing...well, post here.

I'm just not entirely sure what you're post is meant to say...

Where is everyone ? that sort of thing, I'm guessing.

It's sunny, so I guess most people are out and about hanging with buds and all that jazz.

I have no life, otherwise this wouldn't bother me.

I think that's it.  This seems to happen every summer.  Things will be back to "normal" when it gets colder.

I have no life, otherwise this wouldn't bother me.

The last three years, I thought I had one, or was in the process of getting a life, but the last few months, I've come to realize that's really not the case.

The sad part is, I'm not being used & discarded by people like I was in my early twenties.
Rather, I thought I was networking, making contacts, in hopes of finding a better job, or maybe padding my resume, but it became dreadfully apparent in late May, that people see me as some brown nosing lurker. At one point, I was even dumb enough to imagine one or two ladies might be interested in me, but I realize now, they were just being polite.

Then, a little over a week ago, my shrink cut off my meds, and I caught an ear & sinus infection, so I've been locked in with DTs & vertigo & whatnot.

I'm pretty bored.

Though I expected more boredom than sadness, I will use this topic often ._.

It's too hot do go outside so I'm sampling beers.  I guess I shouldn't do this on an empty stomach.  Either that or these beers have a really high alcohol content.  I'm afraid of the pomegranate wheat.

I think I should eat.

Soon.

Scored myself a midweek day off, so am sitting on my couch doing not much of anything.

I should really get up soon.  Really.

Nah...

I know exactly what you mean, vertigo is horrible. I'm supposed to take meds, but i get frustrated and often flush them, my family hates when i do that although i'm not as bad for it as i use to be. Lately, i've been taking  a break from the psych meds; they make me feel plastic besides sometimes the voices are all i have to keep me company...that really isn't funny especially since it's not a joke .
forget about those ass&*^%$ who said you were a brown noser, or ladies just being polite. i hate that crap. I've always been the type that if you like you me thats great if not, its no skin off my back. we all love you on here!!!
however, i hope you get to feeling better soon...

The forecast is for temps over 100 every day for the next week . . . and little to no wind.  The computer room is the coolest room in the house.

You guys will be seeing a lot of me.

So will the inhabitants of Tamriel as I prepare to save them (again) from the Oblivion Invasion.

I wish Elder Scrolls 5 would hurry up and get here!

It's such a slow day that, hmph, I can't even think of anything stupid to say.  Just lookin' out the window.  We've got a wrought iron railing around our deck and it's full of spider webs.

Maybe I should wander downstairs?  Hmmm...decisions decisions.  I know, I could open the windows down there and put the fan on, get some fresh air in the basement.  Now THERE'S something to do!!!

If that is you in your avatar photo, then I so feel for you.  You are incredibly pale, and us pale folks burn like nobody else.

If that ain't you, then I still feel bad for you.  Sunburns suck.

My wife suffers from that problem. She is very pale skinned and burns easily. If she spends more than a couple of hours in direct sunlight she can easily develope a severe sunburn that can result in blistering. I've made a couple of trips with her to the hospital because of this. For her to spend any extended period in the sun she has to wear a lot of long clothing that covers her body from head to toe. Because of this she is extremely happy our daughter inherited my skin which just gets darker in the sun.

It's upper 90's and low 100's here, but heat doesn't bother me so I'm spending a lot of time working. It wouldn't hurt me to sweat a few pounds off.

Currently blind and can't see good out of the other. Been dealing with an eye infection since yesterday. Doc gave me some drops which have helped the right one to where I can open it but left one is still messed up. Having to wear sunglasses indoors cause either the infection or the meds have made my eyes sensitive to light. Overall rather bad day for me.

It's Independence Day, and I'm doing this.

Not too bad earlier.
Nice & warm, not hot.

Got a new battery for my moped the other day, & put it in today & tried it out.

For some reason, I can never get the mixture right. I was getting it too thin, & it wasn't getting enough power. Now I'm getting it too rich, & it chokes out when I accelerate.

Well I was adopted by a dog. My kid and I went walking other day and had a dog follow us home. I told my kid not to feed it or pet it in hopes that it would go home. The next day the dog was still here and had gone almost a full day without water and who knows how long without food. Well my wife felt sorry for it by then so she fed it and gave it some water. I told her as soon as she did it that we might as well keep the dog since no one claimed it dispite asking around about it.
We named the dog Sooner, which is a local joke meaning the sooner they leave the better. Granted we have no plans to get rid of the dog now. Sadly however it appears the dog was abused then abandoned in the woods to die. The dog has several burn scars and some scars about her head where it looks as if she had some sort of blunt force trauma. It is rather friendly but does flinch and cower when you move a certain way around it.
As far as what breed it is, it's a mutt. I have no clue exactly what breeds it's a mixture of. The way it looks is a mixture of butt and ugly. However I suspect it has some hound, Doberman, and German Shepard in it. But those are just a guess. I just know based on the size and the fact it's obvious it's still really a pup, it's going to be a big dog.
I can also say that it is friendly and hyper. The dog runs around like a kid jacked up on sugar. It reminds me a lot of the dog in Marley and Me in it's behavior.

Today I get to do some touch-up painting on the wife's car, she drove over some concrete thing and scraped the paint off the plastic under the bumper.  Then I'll vacuum the house, and maybe bring the PS3 upstairs and hook it up to the internet, load some CD's in it (has to be hooked up to the net or it doesn't know the name of the albums or songs).  Maybe I'll download some more game demo's.  And I need to organize the laundry room, it's getting so piled high with crap you can barely walk in there any more.  Then I shall drink some beer  :teddyr:

Give that dog some time and some positive attention and that dog will kill to protect you.  Found dogs can be the most incredible pets if you treat them right.  We always called them road-tested because we lived outside of a small town on a state highway and if a dog wandered up and stayed alive, it was smart enough to not get run over and it knew how to survive no matter what. After we fed them for a while, they were the best watch dogs and would point out snakes if we were outside.  A bit of kindness reaps a lifetime of intense loyalty.
