Yeah, I love killer animal/fish/or what not type of movies and this time I'm interested in seeing how many killer octopi movies are out there.  I am already aware of 3 movies.  I know about:

Octopus (The one reviewed by Andrew)

Octopus 2: River of Fear (The sequel to Octopus and the one I reviewed)

Tentacles

Outside these 3, can you up with anymore?  I know there is some sort of killer octopus in a Ed Wood movie and one that came out in the 40s, but I don't remember any of their names.

It Came From Beneath the Sea featured a Harryhausen stop-motion octopus. However, the producer would only pay enough to animate six arms, so it was technically a "hextapus."

Also, King Kong vs. Godzilla had a very impressive giant octopus for its time, although the octopus wasn't a major part of the movie.

Any versions of 20,000 leagues under the sea, although if I remember correctly that was a squid. In the same family, has tentacles, anyway.

The Ed Wood movie you referred to is Bride of the Monster. Incidentally, the rubber octopus in that film was stolen from a studio prop department (as shown in Ed Wood); the movie it was originally made for was a John Wayne film called Wake of the Red Witch.

There was a cool scene in Little Hero where Polly Shang Kwan kung-fu fights a bunch of octopuses...

From my youth, I remember a film called Tentacles ~ I think it was Italian in origin. If I have it right, Henry Fonda was in it.  :smile:

I suppose Octop***y (1983) does not count?  Those little poisonous octopi were deadly - as was Maud Adams!

There's a killer octopus in BENEATH THE 12 MILE REEF that has the distinct advatage of being backed up by a growling Bernard Herrmann score.

I recall seeing this exact trailer on late night tv while watching Double Creature Feature!

There originally was a giant octopus that fought with "Frankenstein-san" in FRANKENSTEIN CONQUERS THE WORLD but it was cut out of the final print.
