Title: Early 90s Late 80s film. Abandoned building. Same time as Shocker???
Post by: ilovemykids on July 18, 2009, 09:41:47 AM
I can't remember the name of a movie I saw years ago. I can only remember it had something to do with an abandoned building and some friends (I think 5 or 6) are drinking and go there. If I remember there was a significant song to the movie. HELP PLEASE!!

"Night of the Demons" (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0093624/) perhaps?

Here's one of the descriptions

Quote
Ten teens decide to have a party at an abandoned funeral parlor called Hull House. Hull House is on a strip of land rumored to be unclean and unfit for human inhabitance. The house has a nasty history to it including a the Hull family being murdered. After the ten kids enter the house they decide to have a séance. After an attempt for the séance they awaken a demon that lives in the basement. It possesses one of the girls then from her everyone else becomes possessed and killed by demons that inhabit the land.

Unfortunately your description fits dozens of "dead teenager" movies. Can you at least remember any specific deaths? Survivors?

Night of the Demons IIRC, had a girl and a black guy as the survivors.

It also sounds a little bit like either "Hide and Go Shriek" or "The Initiation" if they were more 'slashery' than supernatural.  Neither takes place in an abandoned building per se, but they both take place in buildings that were empty (or so they thought) due to being closed for the night.  "Hide..." in a furniture store and "Initiation" in a department store (that looks more like a huge building than an actual department store).

Destroyer with Lyle Alzado comes to mind.  It came out at almost exactly the same time as Shocker and is about a killer in an old, abandoned prison.

It could be "Far from Home" with Drew Barrymore and Anthony Rapp. Anthony Rapp tries to kill Drew Barrymore in an abandoned apartment building in the middle of the desert where the local kids like to hang out. It and "Shocker" came out in 1989.

A closed mall is the scene for a bunch of dumb kids partying and getting killed by security robots in Chopping Mall.  I don't recall the soundtrack.

Slaughter High? They have a party in a high school & it has a pretty catchy theme song that goes along with the movie. Total shot in the dark. Kind of useless trying to guess a movie for someone who is no long a member
