"Contender For Horror Film Of The Year"

ahhh...the quote of doom. Every movie released is automatically a 'contender' right?

This starts  well, with some fairly realistic good-time family frolicks as 2 lots of brothers/sisters and their kids (nothing inbred, mind) arrive at their rented house for a xmas holiday of fun. yay! But soon it becomes not so fun as their respective children suddenly turn into psychotic telepathic killers. oh noes! what's the saying: don't work with animals or children...hmmm

problem with this film is, it's not believble, but it tries to be. If it didn't try to be believable with the dialogue/characters etc then there's more chance it would be a good ol' proper bad-movie, and therefore I would be posting this in the Good Movie section (ahem). but the fact the kids who are 4-5yrs old don't get any dialogue and just maraud around like posessed/bored killers while the parents react hysterically makes the whole thing uneven and kind of deadens everything - no pun intended. everything becomes too contrived, one-dimensional, and not scary enough.

Plus-side: there is a super-hot teen Hannah Tointon in this film who runs around all the way through in a short denim skirt and thigh-length fishnets, which means automatically + one point. gore: infrequent, some nasty. + 1/2 a point.  but too many minuses for it to count  much though, overall
