He had a big ranch house just up the road from me, near Bonham, TX. I used to drive by it. What a shame - a fine actor, and by all accounts, a decent human being. RIP Patrick.

I thought the way the paparazzi treated him was awful. The guy was dying and all they wanted was a terrible picture to get on the cover of some rag. That's disgusting. But, he's at peace now. Jim Carroll also passed away. People Who Died was his big hit, and he wrote The Basketball Diaries. I've grown up watching almost every single one of his films, and loved nearly all of them: Dirty Dancing, Roadhouse, Red Dawn, Point Break, Youngblood, all great enjoyable flicks. I always thought Patrick was a great looking guy, a very cool actor and he seemed like a stand up guy off camera too. I'm really bummed. Hearing "She's Like The Wind" is gonna have me blubbin' more than ever now. R.I.P.
