Title: Background Check Results In Arrest For 1976 Murder
Post by: meQal on September 29, 2009, 05:13:27 PM
Police in Atlanta, GA arrested a man wanted for the 1976 murder of a University of Missouri student when he went to have a background check for a job.

I have to wonder, if you know the cops are looking for you, why would you walk into a police station and request a background check?

Maybe he forgot that there is no statute of limitations on murder.

Could be he had no money, no prospects, and wanted to be housed, fed, and get medical attention on the state's dime.

Quote
In 1985, Wright's former roommate told Columbia police he had seen Doisy's body in Wright's car. Boone County prosecutors initially charged the roommate, Harry Moore, with second-degree murder before he came forward with the additional information. Wright was then charged in the crime on Nov. 26, 1985.

It's possible he didn't even know there was a warrant. The kind of stuff like I quoted scares me at times. They consider him a suspect because ANOTHER suspect implicated him, BEFORE they dropped the charges against him.
