I was entertained by the film at times, but it isn't great.

I did find Bert had some pretty funny lines though..

Karen: Bert, what the hell is that?
Bert: Huh? Oh, I'm gonna go shoot some squirrels.
Paul: Why would you wanna kill squirrels?
Bert: 'cause they're gay.
Karen: Bert, don't be a f**king retard.
Bert: I'm kidding. I don't care if they're gay or straight, I'll kill 'em either way.

you're right, that character comes out with a couple of funny quotes early on, which almost made me think the film was going to be okay, but it gets boring and generic very soon...bunch of teens in random remote location get terrorized...hmmm

looks like there's a Cabin Fever 2 coming out- http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0961722/

maybe it's already out, not sure. it's got 3.8/10 on imdb LOL

I didn't care for that movie at all.  How am I supposed to find a movie scary when the director obviously thought it was a complete joke?  And you could tell by the overall style and tone that everybody was going to die, which kind of kills any possibility of suspense.  Oh, and let's overhype it too, that's always good for an extra -2 points.

Haven't seen Cabin Fever, saw Hostel and thought it was kinda boring. I think Eli Roth is a bit overrated. I remember seeing him hosting two movies on the Scream channel a few years back. He picked Happy Birthday To Me and My Bloody Valentine, so I've got to give him props for that.

I liked Cabin Fever. It has some moments of genuine creepiness and disease (in two senses).

It's also got a whole lot of moments of jaw-dropping stupidity. The good bits are directly interspersed with all the bad bits, and it jumps between the two with unfortunate abandon. The final joke was so horrible I wanted to punch somebody.

Overall I'd give it the go-ahead, but man did those stupid parts stink. (Liked the Cerina Vincent, though.)

I also thought Hostel was dumb.

My former girlfriend made me rent it for £8!!  :buggedout: She thought it was good, and I loathed it with all my being. It was like watching an episode of Dawson's Creek where they all get AIDS...

Eli Roth just tries too hard at times to be shocking.  I enjoy gore in a film but at least try to develop a plot line plus have that plot get somewhat resolved at the end.

I thought it was all right, however I think they really could have had something if they played it a bit more seriously and but a bit more effort in the writing. I mean I think they had a really scary monster there and some good special effects.

PANCAKES!

The end basically saved this movie for me: Sure it was stupid but it was so ridiculous that I couldn't help but laugh.

Oh wait, this was supposed to be horror right?

Anyways, the sub plot with the Redneck store clerk took an amusing turn, and I still laugh whenever somebody shouts pancakes, but it's still a largely stupid film.  It just had some occasional nice moments of gore, some nice boobage and that's about it.

Watched half of this last night.  Boring, stupid, implausible, derivative... uhm let's bash up our own truck, shoot at, stab and viciously poke a dying man... this is supposed to involve the viewer?  That's ELI ROTH with all the dope in there, but frankly, I was so bored I went to bed halfway thru...

Hmmmmm... I havent seen Hostel or part 2 yet, partly because my vision of torture porn is nasty and I like to keep my own ideas pure (as the script writer in me)...

On the otherhand I been hearing so much about Hostel and Saw (so the movie/horror fan in me would like to see them)...

I had the same feeling about Saw back then but I envisioned Saw like Cube (1997) and expected the killer to be similar to Dr. Phibes.

When I did see Saw and Saw 2 (2 years ago) I was stunned, as I have expected it was Cube and Dr. Phibes in the blender... Sadly the Saw moives end up taking itself too serious so I was forced to assume that this killer is realistic and the killer devices could be made (even though the devices/traps are quite illogical, almost like Wile E. Coyote using traps to capture the Roadrunner) but both stories also got boring really fast...

How?

Part 1 was loaded with flashbacks that goes nowhere because the twisted ending only that proves that the story writer is GOD, and they have to power to alter the world with a few written lines. A DOCTOR that cannot tell if the guy is breathing? The Killer backmails a person to play the killer and the flashbacks point to the blackmailed victim, really?

Part 2 is worst, its loaded with characters that I dont care to watch.

So I dont feel like wasting my time watching the rest of the Saw movies and when they had that Scream Queen Reality show I told myself the rest of the Saw series is dead to me... :)

As for Hostel, I'm not sure if its worth my time watching it since the Saw movies were a waste, and thats because those that hyped Saw is hyping Hostel...

I did see Turistas (2006) and if Hostel is anthing like that movie then I could believe its boring... :)
