Title: Oh, IMDb joy
Post by: Andrew on October 23, 2009, 09:47:28 AM
Someone posted a "what was that film" thread asking for the name of a movie with a giant octopus eating people on a ship in the open ocean.  The poster had seen it "many many years ago."  I asked for more information, specifically when "many many years ago" was, but also offered that it might be "Deep Rising."

The person responded that the monster in "Deep Rising" wasn't an octopus.  The movie they were looking for was "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea."

*SIGH*

I did not find their response rude:

Quote
this goes to you and the guy above you who answered.
It is not deep rising i am looking for :), it is not an octopus in that movie either.

It's just amusing (and maybe alarming) that their description was a bit off, and that they disagreed about the nature of the monster in "Deep Rising."
