This must be the worst breakup ever portrayed on film. Pouring your soul out to your girlfriend when she dumps you is hard. It is as if she is cutting off your head and dismembering your soul. However, really devastating breakups feel like your brain is leaving your ruined body and crawling across the kitchen floor, beseeching her for compassion. In Alex's case things go a step farther than that. As his battered psyche attempts to escape, his ex-girlfriend chops it apart with a meat cleaver.
