considering your dual interests in rock n roll and atheism

That was funny. I could pretty much tell what was coming as soon as the Siffer dude turned up at the bar.

Once again, though, unnecessarily offensive for the purpose of fearmongering. Once again, factually wrong (Motley Crue weren't a 70's band) and once again a complete failure to even question my morals or beliefs. Most people say I'm a nice guy, but I have done very bad things (we all have at some point), yet I do know the difference between right and wrong. Religion does not solely breed morality. In my darkest moments, the rock music I listen to raises my spirits and proves to be an entertaining, sometimes relaxing form of escapism from all the crap I hate in this world like that cartoon.
I don't see many kids who listen to Iron Maiden or Dio for example, roaming the streets looking for dragons and world war II bombers to fight either...

Plus, rock music is more powerful when it's the underdog and the enemy, that's what re-energizes it decade after decade. Funny how the "morally strong" who "spread the good word" continually do so in such a nasty manner...

Jack Chick really needs to leave his house more than once every five years.

Jack Chick really needs to leave his house more than once every five years.

I was given one or two of these Chick cartoon books when I was a kid: one showed a teen screaming abuse at his parents and carrying on with drugs and alcohol. During the verbal abuse, the father turns to the mother and says: "Don't worry about him, dear. It's a sign of The End."  :buggedout: :buggedout:

All this with a smile on his face!  :buggedout:

I think he died.  there was a fanzine called "the imp" that did a great biography of him a few years ago, done in the form of one of those little tracts.  he never ever gve interviews so it was very hard informatin to get.  there was another guy who did the drawing in the 70's who was WAY better than Jack Chick.  they look like blaxploitation comics or something.

just checked youtube, there is a TON of weird jack chick stuff there.

I actually collect Chick tracts. I think they're absolutely hilarious. I could just buy a crapload of 'em or whatever from their catalog, but stumbling across them at airports and rest stops is half the fun.

Yeah same here!

I like how Lew Siffer in this comic looks like Jello Biafra of  Dead Kennedy's. He has a record label too; Alternative Tentacles.

Check out how messed-up this tract is!

This is geared towards children too!

That's f**king terrifying. This Chick is a nutjob.
Is this the same guy who drew all those anti-D&D comics?

Probably, you could find some on that website.
Its utterly hilarious how those tracts end, there's always Satan saying to a little kid in hell "You played those D&D Games, and for that now you're in Hell!"

My mother used to talk about the ones she saw as a kid.  not Chikc but some other comics where one girl like died because she "boasted" and another kid had his face frozen in some weird position because he had seconds when he was eating over at a freinds house or something

That comic strip is a serious insult to rock 'n' roll and heavy metal. I'm seriously sick and tired of ignorant people (especially religious extremists) accusing it of being the devil's work. It's only another music genre (albeit the best one), it's not something that musicians use to control and brainwash people. I may be catholic, but these idiotic claims by priests or nuns or whatever make me sick.
