Title: Bill O'Reilly Gets Mean With Law & Order: SVU
Post by: InformationGeek on December 11, 2009, 07:34:55 PM
I've watched the episode in which O'Reilly get so peeved about so that's why I brought I made the topic.  Personally, I get why he is so upset, but some parts of things mention about him are true.  Also, he's on Fox News.  Don't you think by now he be used to criticism all of nature.

Last thought, watching that episode of SVU, he's shouldn't be upset.  Beck and Rush should be the ones ticked off since characters on the show who were the villians were mostly likely based off of them.  Also, according to my parents who were watching with me, those characters were pretty good depictions of those two.

Anyways, what's your thought about the subject and if you have seen that episode in particular.

Also, here's the episode's TV.com listing to get an idea about it.

Haven't seen this particular episode - but in fairness, they should make an episode where a Michael Moore-like character gets visited by the ghost of General Patton and is made to realize what a great country this is and what a stupid, reprehensilble slob he's been all these years.  Maybe they could work in the Angel of Death, and George Washington, and a cameo by O'Reilly . . . . .

wait,  what do you mean it's been done???

Indiana, y'know, when are you going to get over your partisan politics?  I don't see much of a comparison between BILL O'REILLY and MICHAEL MOORE other than they're both arrogantly self-righteous.

Considering Bill and Fox have gone after SEASAME STREET

It's getting harder and harder to take them seriously.

I'm sorry, but FOX news anchors have become the poster childern for "Can dish it out, but can't take it."

I didn't see that whole movie, but what I saw of it I found very depressing.  It's hard to believe it's from David Zucker, the same guy who co-directed/wrote Airplane! and solo directed Naked Gun.  Leftist dudes like Moore are prime for a roasting, but I didn't see much of anything funny or not incredibly obvious in the first half hour of An American Carol (first chunk of the movie was online for a while).

It's the equivalent of finding out the same guy who made A Christmas Story made Baby Geniuses 2.

That said...  Law & Order: SVU is a pretty crappy show.  I don't think O'Reilly should take offense at the show jabbing at him, he should take offense at even being associated with it.

You're right.  All those emmy awards, nominatations, large fan base, good story telling, and great cast all equal a crappy show.  As you can tell, I am a fan.  A real crappy show is Cavemen.

All I know is the episodes I've seen were filled with cliche and seemed to be largely an excuse to feature tons of sex related episodes (as compared to the normal L&O).  I haven't seen much of it since the first two seasons, so I'll say it's certainly possible it has improved.  As far as Emmy awards go - you might notice it has never gotten noms for anything BESIDES acting.  I wouldn't argue against the acting's quality, though - I thought Meloni in particular was good from what I saw.

On another note, lots of crappy shows win Emmy awards (much like crappy bands winning Grammys) and have large fan bases.   :tongueout:
