I pretty much agree.  But I'll go just slightly different..

1. Dead animal group (mostly roast beef, steak, fried chicken, chicken fried steak, Italian sausage)
2. Dairy group (especially cottage cheese, pudding, melted cheese, ice cream)
3. Caffeine group (Coke, Dr. Pepper)
4. Bread/cereal group (especially buttered or fried rice, somen, ramen, Texas toast, English muffins, breakfast cereal, wheat bread)

For me, it's Sugar Group, Breakfast Group, Meat Group, and Grain Group.  It's what's gotten me this far!

Also, this topic reminded me of that quote Cookie said in Atlantis:  "I got ya four basic food groups!  Beans, Bacon, Wiskey, and Lard!"

Here's my 4 food groups:

1. plain oatmeal, raisins, cinnamon
2. blended fresh fruit shake, such as apple/banana/grapefruit or strawberry/banana/orange with water or orange juice or grapefruit juice
3. green vegetable (broccoli, string bean, spinach) and potato (sweet or white) and root veg (turnip, beet)
4. chicken

But then there are days, like yesterday, after fasting and having blood drawn, I went and got a bacon/egg/cheese on a roll...  :teddyr:

I believe my four basic food groups are about to change.  I just had my first medical exam since 2005 and found out I have extremely high cholesterol (over 350) and diabetes (thankfully, I don't need insulin shots . . . just pills).  This week is a bummer so far, and it's only Wednesday.   :bluesad:

That's rough. On the plus side, at least you are now aware of your diabetes. Both my parents are diabetic, and an undiagnosed case is nothing to scoff at.

I'm so depressed I think I'll go home and eat fried chicken and a big piece of cake and wash it all down with egg nog.
