The majority of the productions he was involved with were top notch. Alien alone insures his place in film history. Here's hoping his vision/script for the 2011 prequel to Alien remains in close spirit to the original.

He wrote one of the best sci-fi/horror films of all time with Alien and he wrote and directed one of the best zombie films of all time with Return of the Living Dead. Sorry to see him go.
