For me, it's the smell of milk that has gone sour and also the mealies that people can buy on the street corners here. Mealies (corn-on-the-cob) are supposed to be good for you but I don't like the smell that comes from these sidewalk sellers.  :buggedout:

Dead animals.  I caught a mole in our yard and tossed him in the garbage can in our garage.  A couple of days later - aaaaaaaa!  Instant gag reaction. 

Stale urine...I hate walking into a bathroom where someone has p!ssed all over the floor and dealing with the stench on top of it.

Sickly smelling diapers.  All you parents who have sick youngins can relate.  There something about sick poop that is gag inducing. 

Burnt popcorn/one day old popcorn....seriously, the window of popcorn smelling good is very slim. 

Lamb chops being cooked.. makes me gag every time.

anything pickled.. eggs, feet.. whatever. Nasty

my husbands farts..Especially when he is sleeping. I would be laughing my ass off if I was able to breath.

You get the fine aroma of well matured urine around bus-shelters in Pretoria a lot ~ when the wind's right, that is.  :buggedout:

That rampant, stale, "deep in the pores" body odor that comes primarily from homeless people.  Take a stroll through Boston Common on a humid day in August and you'll undoubtedly get a whiff or two.

Believe it or not, some consider them quite the delicacy! Here in the South almost every convenience store has a huge jar of these on the counter - right next to the pickled eggs.

I've never been tempted to try either one.

I can't stand the smell of Spam being cooked. My wife loves to fry slices of Spam and I always leave the hosue when she does cause it smells so bad.

Cat crap.

Once upon a time my male cat 'sprayed' down a heater vent. I didn't discover it until months later when I turned the heat on for the first time for the season.

Cold leftover soup that has been left  in the fridge too long. I always get the job of disposing of noxious materials around our house, and that's one of the worst. I hold my breath from the second I take the lid off until the contents are safely flushed and the container is in the sink.

That and dog crap. Puppy crap to be specific. There's something in that extra-rich puppy food that produces an unbearable stench. When our little Sheltie was still having "accidents" you could tell the instant he did it. The whole room would immediately fill with the smell, and I would naturally have the job of cleaning up, trying not to gag as I did it.

Also, since I've known what roach motels smell like, I can't stomach the smell of most maple syrups.. which is a real shame because I loves me some pancakes and syrup.

I know the smell of homeless people came up but I'll opt for anyone with BO.  That smell literally invades your nose and gives you an instant headache.  

B.O. that smells like bad chicken soup is particularly gross..

I've had to clean grease traps when I worked at a restaurant in the past, and it was unbearable.  Smelled like pig s**t.

Greasy chicken farts are also difficult to keep from gagging around.

My family runs a smaller poultry farm.  I know what that's like, but you get used to it.

The smell of a sweaty person who hasn't put on any sort of deodorant is just nasty.  Makes me want to puke.  Just do everyone a favour and put on some damn deodorant!

You have my sypathies, but as you said ya get used to it. Even though it took me years!

Mayo. i dont know what it is but if i see or smell mayo i have to hold back a vomit spree.

The family used to keep a bottle of Tarn-X around the house to polish metal with.  I don't know what the chemical composition of that stuff was but it reeked something fierce.  We would often go out of the house until the smell passed.

The scent of liquor puke is horrid.. at least it forces you to puke more to get the stuff out of your system.

Chicken guano - yup, that's a bad one.  Pig is nasty; sheep can be almost as bad.  Fresh cat or dog mess gags me too but...the smell of burning hoof (closest most people will come to it is burning hair) beats them all.  One whiff instantly shuts my breathing right down in gag reflex.  And it clings, oh how it clings!

The smell of codfish when you fry it or even when you store away the salted kind. Generally the smell of codfish.

Actually capelin too smell pretty bad cooked or uncooked. Honestly most everything you get out of salt water and then cook generally smells pretty bad.

the CLR cleaning stuff

Palmer's body lotion. This chick used to get me to rub it on her boobs and butt, but it stunk to high heaven. I can't even descibe the smell it was that bizzare. It was supposed to be coconut and toffee, but didn't smell like either.

But hey, it had to be done.  :wink:

Old sour milk, breweries and vomit. These three smells will make me gag every time in fact I can't even look at vomit with out the need to vomit.I live in Milwaukee and everytime I have to go near the miller brewing company the smell of brewing yeast is unbearable. Crickets are another horrible thing. If you ever had a reptile and thought it was a good idea to keep a couple hundred of these horrible smelly creatures you know what I mean. Imagine decaying bodies and ammonia.

Interesting side note, weird smells that I like: Cigarettes Marlboro red in particular, old books, ozone.

Steamed cauliflower-  Smells like a really nasty fart.  I remember the first time my mom made that stuff.  I came home from school, about 8 at the time, and said, "Did someone fart?"  She was pretty p**sed I'd said that.  Even to this day I can't stomach the smell.

Cat crap- Thankfully, I use a cat litter that takes care of the odor.  I've always hated the smell of cat crap, especially once it begins to pervade a living space.

Hematochezia- It's a medical term.  It means a condition of blood in stools.  I smell it all the time at work, and it's horrid.  It's not just poopy, but poopy and a little coppery. 

Long time BO- Not just someone who didn't put on deodorant or hasn't showered in a few days.  It's a smell like someone p**sed his/herself, rolled in the dirt, and just took off their shoes and socks after a long day of work.  I used to smell this a lot more when I worked at Wal-Mart.  I felt badly for these kind of people because I think they were missing something vital in their self-awareness. 

Unwashed girl parts- Umm... I almost feel embarrassed going there, but... yeah... It's definitely part of the list.

I've never smelled chicken crap before, but I think it would definitely wind up on this list after hearing some of your stories.   :buggedout:

I'd also like to add dog farts to my list, especially from elderly pooches. I have an 11-year-old Brittany Spaniel sleeping behind my chair right now, and he's giving me the silent-but-deadly treatment. :buggedout:

Death, because it is a sweet smell, and I don't mean pleasantly sweet.

One of the colleges I attended was on two levels: the upper and the lower, and it also processed its own sewage,so it had its own sewage plant. And to get from one level to the other, you had to walk right by the plant, and people would often complain about the smell, but that's when I knew they had never smelled death, for as bad as that sewage smell was, it was not as bad as the smell of death.

For the smell of death is not just one smell, but a combination of many smells: s***, p***, motor oil, hot cordite, body rot, blood, etc. The smell is especially bad on a hot day. I have never smell anything worse than death.

The guy next door when he visits. Seriously he stinks worse than anything else I've smelled in my life and I've smelled plenty nasty foul things in my time. This guy next door is about 400 pounds, 6'5 and basically just plain doesn't bath as much as he needs to. Feel kinda sorry for the guy, as he's basically almost all alone in the world (his family don't have a lot to do with him) in some ways but man I hates to see him come because anywhere he sits seriously needs to be Febreze sprayed.

Broccoli steam.  My folks, if they're serving it when I'm visiting, will wave it at me just to p**s me off.  It works!

My flatulence. Not really pleasant for those around me either. Even worse now that I've started to eat a bit healthier.
