Ah, this is far more fun than the other :teddyr:

1. Gangs of the Dead (2006)
2. Anaconda (1997)
3. Congo (1995)
4. 27 Dresses (2008) - Gag gag gag gag gag gag gaggggggggg!
5. Speed (1994)
6. Speed 2 (1997)
7. The Day the Earth Stood Still (2008)
8. Miss Congeniality (2000)
9. Miss Congeniality (2005)
10. Chain Reaction (1996)
11. The Haunting (1999)
12. Halloween 2 (2009) - Rob Zombies version. Liked his first one, but hated the second.
13. Thirteen Ghosts (2001)
14. Arthur 2: On the Rocks (1988) - The first one was brilliant
15. The Cutting Edge (1992)

Now, those are some godawful movies. Not even one could make it in the "so bad it's good" category. Completely unwatchable. And, in case you're wondering, yes, I have an extreme aversion to Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock.

1... Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace (1999) ~ Because we waited for such a long ass time to get punched in the balls!

2... The remastard Star Wars... Greedo shooting first and Han can "walk around" Jabba!?? ~ People shouldnt be allowed to paint mustaches on art and pass it off as this is what I intended to to.

3... Rollerball (2002) ~ Oh my GOD what is wrong with these people!

4...Godfather Part 3 (1990) ~ do I need to say why... :)

5... The English Patient (1996) ~ Usually the films that I hate are based on my feelings that the director could do better. As for Rollerball my feeling is you need to see the original movie that your remaking or at least read the book... As for The English Patient, my hatered runs deeper since the oscars and the critics say, "This is a good movie" but its less entertaining the paint dry, so then I'm thinking maybe I'm stupid since the critics and the oscars say otherwise, then I tried watching it again and the movie still fails... Then I find myself not alone as others are also b***hing that this is one boring ass flick...

The critics and the oscars are wrong!!!

6-15 for future hate films :)

But I don't hate any movie.  That why I'm on here...

OK, here's the list:
1. EPIC MOVIE - I just couldn't laugh at the humor.  It just wasn't funny...

2. STEP BROTHERS - I sat in the theater with a whole s**t-load of other teenagers who were laughing their asses off, while I was bored out of my skull.  It's just not funny!

3. NORTH - Again, just not funny.  And this one had a bunch of well-known stars to go with it!  I love Roger Ebert's review on the film. :tongueout:

4. HOTEL FOR DOGS - This one I've seen twice, and hated it both times.  I love dogs, don't get me wrong, I have three of them (yeah we got a new dog).  But this movie seems to be written by people who have never even seen a dog.

5. IRON MAN - *Prepares to be flamed*  Yes, the Robert Downey Jr. movie.  The reason I didn't really like the movie was because I didn't like Downey's character in it.  He reminded me of that guy, that we all know, whose just a big a***ole, but nobody wants to tell him so.

6. MEET THE BROWNS - I've watched several Tyler Perry movies in my time, and most of them are at least watchable.  This one just isn't.  The characters are really boring, the plot seems to be made up on the spot, I was just bored out of my mind.

7. FACING THE GIANTS - Ah, a faith based sports movie.  That must mean it's good, right?  Nope.  Especially not this one.  The movie is about a high school football coach who uses faith to help his team win the big game.  Need I say more?

8. TRANSFORMERS - The 2007 one.  I... I...  Can't really say much, but I found myself zoning out of the movie and sort of hoping Megan Fox would at least have a nude scene.

9. BLACK KNIGHT - Martin Lawrence mixes with A Kid in King Arthur's Court...  What the hell were they thinking?

10 - BLAIR WITCH PROJECT - I can see where the film could be likable, if you're in the right mood.  But I guess I wasn't, and neither was my stomach for the matter.  Boring and queasy, not a good combination.

11 - ALONE IN THE WOODS - (1996) OK, mix a home alone type story with camping, plus some s**tty acting and what do you get?  This waste of good film.

12 - THE HOUSE BUNNY - Why?  Just why?  There was no redeeming value at all in the movie.

13 - TOPAZ - The 1969 Hitckcock film.  Easily his worst (I haven't seen Mr. and Mrs. Smith).  I was bored out of my mind, had no idea what the hell was happening, and I think i fell asleep towards the end.

14 - THE PINK PANTHER - The REMAKE!  Holy f**king s**t!!!!  Since when does Steve Martain think he can be Peter Sellers?

15 - HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL - Need I say more?

2. Fantastic four rise of the silver surfer(2007)
3. Van Helsing
4. Underworld 2
5. Twilight
6. Scary  movie~~ All of them!
7. The Rage: Carrie 2
8. Every movie Jennifer Aniston has been in... ok, all chick flicks and romantic comedies.. I hate them all..

Post by: InformationGeek on February 23, 2010, 08:16:41 PM
It's hard for me to pick a 15 good film list, but it is very easy for me to pick a hated list.  Mostly because all of the films I hate are ones that I reviewed.

15. Monkeybone:
The movie was just way to over the top for me and pretty much just plain insane.  Oh sure, it was pretty creative, but damn, talk about a head trip.

14. Mortal Kombat: Annihilation
Video game movie adaptions are often not that good and this movie was a prime example of it.  Going into it, I knew it was going to be bad, but I didn’t think it would end up being THIS bad.

13. The Spirit
The movie chose visuals over story, character development, plot structure, and such other important things.  Oh sure, Samuel L. Jackson was fun to watch, but even he couldn’t carry the entire film.

12. Beware!  The Blob
Somehow the special effects have actually gotten worse and this was just a horrible follow up to one of my favorite science fiction movies in general.

11. Kong Island
This movie was just unbelievably uninteresting.  I mean, how could a movie about mind control gorillas being used as an army be so bad?  Well it is the fact that the movie had basically no plot until there was less than 20 minutes and that just about everything was terrible.

10. Shark Swarm
It is the only film I couldn’t finish the review for.  The film just completely rubs me the wrong way.  I couldn’t tell it was the fact that things would be introduced into the film and promptly forgotten or the fact sharks were a joke.

9. Robot Holocaust
The film was directed by a porn director, but it felt more like it was directed by a bunch of college graduates with a video camera and budget of 1,000 bucks.  The plot was a joke and I had more fun laughing at the effects than anything else.

8. Jaws: The Revenge
This was the first film that I ever saw that I felt was completely worthless.  The special effects were just mind numbingly horrible to the point where it just wasn’t funny.  The plot was confusing, but I have learned a great many things from it about sharks, like the fact that they can roar.

7. Octopus 2
I honestly wanted to like this movie, since I do enjoy all things with killer creatures in it, but this was just something else.  Just so many things didn’t add up or even make sense.  It was just embarrassing to watch, especially with my dad.

6. Blood Beach
A killer underground monster is a great idea and putting the monster underneath a beach during tourist season is even better, but despite all of this going for it, the movie was just a bore fest.  However, the lighting was the worst problem since I couldn’t even tell what was happening during the film at some points.  Could be a good thing though when I think about it.

5. Titanic: The Legend Goes On
I knew this movie was going to suck before I even watched it, but yet I watched it.  I just can’t believe it failed on almost every level from the acting to the technical side.  This film is also surprisingly offense and racist at some points!

4. Disaster Movie
Like Titanic, I knew this was going to be bad going in.  However, I wanted to pit myself against something this awful and I can say that I have survived it, though my brain hurt after watching it.

3. Frogs
Oh yeah, my own personal hell.  I have commented many times saying that this is the worst movie I have ever seen.  I still believe that, though it is a pretty close call with the other two films I have next.

2. Pocket Ninjas
Martial art films shouldn’t be like this.  No film should be like this!  It probably has the worst editing I have ever seen besides Devil Fish and that is saying a lot.

1. Monster A Go-Go
This is the only film I know besides Manos to fail on every level with absolutely nothing redeeming about this.  I did mention one thing in my review on it, but I was mostly joking about it.  This film is pure evil.  Plain and simple.

I didn’t describe most of these films since I already went into full length about them in reviews and why should I bring up painful memories?

We've done topics like this on the board before. My answers haven't changed a whole lot and I supsect I'd have a lot more modern era remakes on here if I bothered to watch many of them (typically I avoid them like the plague). Generally the films I hate the most are those highly touted but which left me cold and/or bitterly disappointed or just bored the hell out of me. I still think Kevin Smith is a hack, with Clerks, the first film, being his only good movie. Michael Bay is a given to be on here and Adam Sandler had to be on the list somewhere too (although he too I generally avoid although sometimes I have to put up with him as my girlfriend likes him for some unexplainable reason, same with Julia Roberts).

1. Natural Born Killers (1994) - mindless, repetitive violence does not a good story make.
2. Armageddon (1998) - mindless, mindless, mindless...it's from Michael Bay.
3. Envy (2004) - Jack Black and Ben Stiller were never less funny.
4. The Dukes of Hazzard (2005) - remakes of TV shows typically = dud.
5. National Lampoon's Senoir Trip (1995) - painfully unfunny viewing experience, unbelievably lame.
6. The Waterboy (1998) - Adam Sandler at his dumbest.
7. Boogie Nights (1997) - a huge bore, incredibly overrated.
8. Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace (1999) - hugely disappointing and aside from Darth Maul, a total bore.
9. Speed 2 (1997) - completely unnecessary remake but this is also beyond bad.
10. Accident (1967) - another bore, an arty bore but still a bore.
11. Titanic (1997) - tragedy dumbed down for the masses and turned into a romance.
12. Clerks II (2006) - offensive to the max and a hugely disappointing follow-up, just wallows in trying to up the shock factor.
13. Alone in the Dark (2005) - do I even need to explain?
14. Dogma (1999) - Smith again. Just competely unfunny tripe to me.
15. Erin Brockovich (2000) - Julia Roberts, my girlfriend loves her. I think she's completely devoid of talent.

15) Boogie Nights - Not even Julliane Moore could save this over-hyped crap.

14) Dazed and Confused - I was forced to watch this on a date with a hot German chick. So not as good as "The Stoned Age" which was much more fun.

13) Congo - A good friend of mine recommended this movie and we still give him s**t about it today! "Amy good gorilla!"

12) Titanic - Nuff said.

11) Godfather 3 - So, lets take one of the greatest cinematic franchises ever and kill it with George Hamilton!

10) Star Wars Episode 1 - I waited 20 years for this?

09) Gladiator - barf

08) Independence Day - This movie made me want to punch the dopes in the audience who were clapping at the end.

07) Rocky Horror Picture Show - I tried to understand why this is such a classic but I never get it. I'm more of a fan of Phantom of the Paradise.

06) The Out of Towners 1999 - This was just pure blasphemy.

05) I Spit on your Grave - I threw the DVD out after I bought it.

04) Mr. and Mrs. Smith - God this was terrible.

03) My Super Ex-Girlfriend - My date that I saw this with fell asleep during this borefest. I could watch Uma eat popcorn and be entertained but this was impossible.

02) Anything with Sandler - Glad I'm not alone here.

01) Transformers 2007 - So many fond memories as a kid dreaming of a non animated Transformers movie. To have those dreams crushed by Michael Bay.

I would say that every film has some redeeming factors in it, but then I would just be lying.

I don't keep track of the hated movies because I don't want to think about them.

Wow...I know there are movies that I didn`t like & would never watch again.  But movies I HATE!

 Well I Guess...

1.  Godzilla - The American  remake
2.  King Kong - Both the Peter Jackson & the Dino De Laurentiis version
3.  Van Helsing - Was this Character meant to be an action Hero?
4.  Land of the Lost - My favorite show as a kid and now Will Ferrell - WHY???
5.  Star Trek (2009) How did Nimoy get involved in this?
6.  Superman IV: The Quest For Peace
7.  Godzilla vs. Megalon - Own every Godzilla movie except this one &...
8.  Godzilla - Final Wars
9.  Caddyshack 2 (1988)
10. Smokey and the Bandit 3 - Even the 2nd one was good next to this.
11. Maximum Overdrive (1986) - Loved the short story but then got AC/DC.
12. Jason X
13. Spiders (2000 - Sci-Fi orig) Actually almost all Sci-Fi channel movies could be here.
14. Star Wars: The Clone Wars - CGI-animated Star Wars??????
15. Contact (1997) - Again I liked the book & thought the movie might be good.

1) Moulin Rouge - There will never be a movie worse than Moulin Rouge.  Just thinking about it makes my blood boil.  It doesn't even have Bad Movie charm, it's just bad in every way.
2) Phantom Menace - Jar Jar.....
3) Toys - HOO! HAH!.....HOOHAH!!!  :)
4) West Side Story - As the pattern suggests, I hate 99.99% of all musicals.  This one is particularly ridiculous without having any major comic value.
5) Austin Powers : The Spy Who Shagged Me - Way to ruin one of my favorite movies with a despicable sequel.
6) Eye of the Beholder - I hated this movie for the first 6 minutes, and then I fell asleep.
7) Mamma Mia - I hate ABBA and I hate musicals.  This one's easy.
8) Clerks 2 - I really liked Clerks, but I don't know what the F this movie was supposed to be.
9) Eraserhead - Some Lynch movies are at least interesting.  This movie was just irritating.
10) Planet of the Apes (2001) - The movie, or the planet?  What an unwatchable mess.
11) Con Air - It pains me because I'm a big Cusack fan, but this movie could not have been worse.  John Malkovich sounded like a bad Dutch actor with a bad English accent (I guess he usually sounds like that though...).
12) Son of the Mask - Jamie Kennedy, sometimes you just have to kill your baby.  He's asking for it.
13) Baby's Day Out - Joe Mantegna, you can't be in this movie.  I won't accept it.
14) Troy - I saw this in Spanish (I speak Spanish pretty well - long story), and I sat there in the theater thinking to myself, "I think this movie is terrible, but I'm not SURE...."  I saw it in English later and confirmed my suspicions.  Did they bother to look up the actual pronuncations, or did they just tell the actors to pronounce everything however they thought it should sound?
15) K-Pax - This one was particularly painful because Kevin Spacey and Jeff Bridges are two of my favorite actors.  Ouch.

A few points about previously mentioned movies:

Godfather Part 3 - this would have made the list but Sofia Coppola gets capped, so that redeems it just enough in my view.
Titanic - the only thing that saved this from my list was the extended Kate Winslet scene in the middle.  You know which one I'm talking about.

Godfather Part 3 - this would have made the list but Sofia Coppola gets capped, so that redeems it just enough in my view.

Actually, I really do hate Godfather Part 3, it annoys me because I have seen the first 2 Godfather movies and it seems that there is a giant gap between part 2 and part 3. Although I have not read the books to confirm my suspicions but do I really need to? Godfather part 2 ends with Don Michael Corleone who was furiously angry with his wife (or exwife) for aborting his unborn son, then in part 3 we see Don Michael Corleone 20+ years older and romancing the woman that killed his unborn child... WTF??? We are talking about the same Don Michael Corleone that killed his brother for almost killing him and his wife and children... but he does nothing to his exwife... yea right!

Aside from that there is a noticable gap when you watch the films back to back.

I also think Sofia Coppola is the Jar Jar of the Godfather movies...

Tough to hate films... most truly bad films are so boring they're not worth hating.  Here's some that I can muster up hatred for, though.

PROMETHEUS TRIUMPHANT: A FUGUE IN THE KEY OF FLESH (2009): Amatuerish, sloppy and pretentious
ZEITGEIST: THE MOVIE (2007): Conspiracy crap
THE TERROR (1963): Soooo dull
NEKROMANTIK (1987): Shock crap; I see why the director was rejected from film school
THE LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT (1972): Pure sadism, and terribly made to boot
CREATURE FROM THE HAUNTED SEA (1961): Just painful attempts at comedy
MOON OF THE WOLF (1972): Aggressively boring
BASIC INSTINCT (1992): Slick, cyncial, predictable
COCKTAIL (1988): Just flat out stupid and bad
GOOD WILL HUNTING (1997): Tackles genius with the insight of Dr. Phil
DIARY OF A MAD BLACK WOMAN (2005): I hate scripts that try to have it both ways: revenge and forgiveness
EX-DRUMMER (2007): Pretentious nihilism
REVOLT OF THE ZOMBIES (1936): An insult to WHITE ZOMBIE
MONSTER A GO-GO (1965): Boring, then insulting
THE DEVIL'S REJECTS (2005): Torture porn that's not 1/2 as clever as it thinks it is

That's enough hate for one day...

Here's films other people hated that I kind of like (some I even love):

WHAT'S EATING GILBERT GRAPE
NATURAL BORN KILLERS
BOOGIE NIGHTS
SW: ATTACK OF THE CLONES
DAZED & CONFUSED
ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW (used to absolutely hate it, but it grew on me)
STAR TREK (2009)
ERASERHEAD (Lynch's best, in my top 15)
LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL
THERE'S SOMETHING ABOUT MARY
BLOOD FREAK (It's 'great'!)
BLAIR WITCH PROJECT

And Burgo, I can understand why you wouldn't like FRANKENSTEINS BLOODY NIGHTMARE, but to me it's hard to hate a labor of love made by a guy with obvious talent behind the camera.

Some of the choices here are a bit surprising, considering the fact that this is a site for people who like "bad" movies, b-movies, etc.

I can't even begin to sort out a top 15 in this category, but here are 15 movies that I hate in no particular order.

Gone With The Wind
E.T.
Brokeback Mountain
The Dark Knight
Peter Jackson's King Kong
Star Wars
Lord of the Rings
The US Hollywood Godzilla with Matthew Broderick
Valley Girl
2001: A Space Odyssey
The Sound of Music
War of the Worlds -Tom Cruise version
Saturday Night Fever
The All New Adventures of Laurel and Hardy in For Love or Mummy
Titanic

WHAT'S EATING GILBERT GRAPE

UUUUUGH!!! Just ugh! (though it does establish Leonardo DiCaprio as a good actor, yeah, I said it)

STAR TREK (2009)

I too liked this, then again I'm not a Trekkie...

Two movies I liked that everyone seems to hate here.
The Devil's Rejects (I realize its shameless self indulgence, and I by no means regard as a masterpiece, but it was better than Inglorious Basterds)

The Dark Knight (I am a HUGE Joker fan, I love it mainly for him)

No, I'm meaning does he hate it because he doesn't think it's a good movie, or because it's about homosexuals.

1)  Death Tunnel - I want to physically assault the people who made this.
2)  Anacondas Hunt for the Blood Orchid - Gives s*** a bad name.
3)  Anything with Jim Carrey
4)  Dukes of Hazzard  - take a charming Southern comedy and replace it with obnoxious drunken morons.
5)  Quantum of Solace - No offense, but if you liked this movie, you should see a doctor about getting on some medication.
6)  Stick It - Made me hate young people.
7)  Witchouse II: Blood Coven - This was so bad I actually sent it back to Amazon for a refund.
8)  Sasquatch Mountain - This is what it's like to be an utter hack.
9)  Transmorphers - Leigh Scott proves that he too is an utter hack.
10)  Mallrats - There's nothing less funny than someone who's convinced he's a comic genius.

To be continued...

We've discussed THE DEVIL'S REJECTS here multiple times, and it's a love-it-or-hate it movie... you'll be happy to know that more people here love it than hate it.

Most people here liked/loved THE DARK KNIGHT but you will find some hate for it...

Hate is such a strong feeling...

I dont actually hate THE DEVIL'S REJECTS but I dont love it either, I have not seen any film that Rob Zombie has done so far that strikes me as Genius... I do think Rob Zombie can do better then mocking off Quentin Tarantino, but so far he hasnt tried.

I personally think THE DEVIL'S REJECTS is a little overrated because there are too many horror fans that are looking for the old school drive-in horror/violence movie that isnt a remake or not rated PG-13, at least from the time THE DEVIL'S REJECTS was made, I have been noticing that Hollywood is shifting there horror stands slowly, or they are noticing that the SAW series (Rated-R) could make money for the Tweens...

Ok, off the top of my head and in no particular order...

1.Original Sin-Angelina Jolie and Antonio Baderas in a soppossed erotic thriller. It was so bad it made me forget my toothache for a 2 hours.

2.Planet of the Apes- The Tim Burton "re-imagining" drove me crazy.

3. Wanted-I might have liked it if I hadn't read the TPB first, but it was so awful in comparison I couldn't seperate the two.

4.Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves-I thought it was just a PC re-working. Alan Rickman is the only watchable aspect of the movie.

5. A Guy Thing- Worse than most other fluffy chick flick I guess, it was made worse by Julia Stiles, whom I just don't like.

6.Mona Lisa Smile-Part Chick Flick, part dedicated teacher who gets students to think differently about their lives, and all  a horrible sufocating mess.

7. Dead Poets Society- I hate movies about dedicated teachers, this movie simply ruined the phrase "carpe diem" for me.

8. Epic Movie-The worst of that family of movies, this is one of the few that i've ever actually walked out on.

9. The Spirit-I know this has already been mentioned once at least, it was disappointing to say the least. Just a cash-in on comic bokk movies.

10.Fantastic Four- I didn't mind what they did to the FF themelves, that wasn't so bad. But I couldn't stand what they did to Dr. Doom. He's my favorite Marvel villain and his re-working was terrible.

11.Rooster Cogburn- I normally enjoy John Wayne movies but this one was such an obvious attepmt to re-create the magic of the African Queen before one of the lead stars croaked it was disgusting.  The only Duke movie I won't watch.

12.The HoneyMooners-The remake with Cedric the Entertainer. All I can say is WTF?

13.Ant-It just bugged me.(Yeah that was on purpose)

14.UltraViolet-MKilla's my girl but there are much better ways to see her hotness.

15.Ocean's Twelve.

It has nothing to do with the homosexuality.  In fact, I think the intended message of the film (showing the damage and repression caused by homophobia and prejudice) is the only redeeming quality the film has.  I think "Milk" had a similar message, but was a much better movie.

Other than that I thought Brokeback Mountain was a boring, run-of the-mill drama.  Like a chick flick (which I hate) only without the chick or the happy ending.

I also found Heath Ledger's performance and his character to be very irritating.  His voice REALLY bugged me.  He didn't just sound like a cowboy or a redneck, he sounded like a retarded one with painful constipation.

Does anyone here hate or not like the 1996 Jim Carrey dark comedy, "The Cable Guy"? I've always been curious as to why it was so criticized. Not just because it's my all time favorite movie, I'm asking respectively and honestly.

I love the Cable Guy.

The movies I hate the most, I mean really hate that I'd strangle the producer's with their own intestines, would be the stupid teen films like High School Musical and Twilight, that make kids into morons. Also, those films think that teens are interested in something without violence and sexuality, and they are offensive in the means that they expect teenagers to be like little kids.

You've inspired me, as I don't think much about movies I've hated unless they come up in discussion one at a time.  I've seen most of the films you list, and particularly agree with the ones cited as boring.  However, here's three from your list and two of my own:
THE DEVIL'S REJECTS mean-spirited, stupid and repulsive
HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES stupid derivative drivel [EDITED to correct the title...)
LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT now that is hateful  :hatred:
GOOD WILL HUNTING contrived claptrap
INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS Pointless poop - a real waste of money, resources, talent, even a few very good ideas... I feel a dumb film review coming on... since when did QUENTIN TARANTINO start blatantly ripping himself off, rewriting history stupidly, and missing opportunity after opportunity to create something genuine?  A HUGE disappointment.

Two disagreements: I don't think HOUSE OF 1000 MANIACS is good by ny stretch of the imagination, but it's the most fun Rob Zombie movie I've seen.  It's a true bad movie in that you can laugh at how incredibly self-indulgent it is.

I really liked INGLORIOUS BASTERDS as well, made my "top 10" of the year.  Not perfect by any stretch, but Walz was great and the opening scene was extremely tense---reminded me of Leone making a WWII movie.

Hey, HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES!!!    Oops... I've only seen those two ZOMBIE flix.  That's enough for me.

And CHRISTOPH WALTZ was great - there are several interesting scenes in BASTERDS... but in the end, I just found myself offended on too many levels and annoyed at the squandered opportunities.  Having seen nothing new for a long while, 2009 must have been a pritty sh!tty year for movies...

I loved Inglourious Basterds.  Not as much as the Kill Bill movies, but I loved it.

You are right when you say that Tarantino is not clever, and he may very well be egotistical and smug, I don't pay enough attention to HIM to know for sure.  I just tend to like his movies. I doubt he is stupid though.  I'm sure he knows that his movies are not "clever."

He doesn't do anything original, but what he does do he does very well.  I find his everything -but-the-kitchen-sink approach of "borrowing" ideas, music, and scenes from other films to be very entertaining, and I think there are very few if any living directors who could pull that off the way that he does.

I especially got a kick out of the scenes that had blatant allusions to "Once Upon a Time in the West," and "Dark Shadows."  Like I said, nothing original, but he sure knows how to put it all together to create an entertaining flick.  He's not Sergio Leone, but he's the closest thing we've got these days.  I would maybe put him in the same league as Sergio Corbucci.

My only complaint about the movie is Brad Pitt.  They could have found someone a lot more suited for his role, in my opinion, but at least he did well enough to not ruin the film.

Im not a fan of Pitt at all but I really liked him in this.. Every time he was on screen I thought to myself, damn! he looks like he is having a blast with this role.  :teddyr:  This was one of my favorite movies last year.. The scene in the beginning and the bar scene were just amazing.

I actually love The Devil's Rejects. Sleaze was Rob Zombie's goal, and sleaze he accomplished. I had a great time watching it. I am actually most worried about disappointing the good Rev., who has an otherwise impeccable taste in movies.

Then again, I also think Inglorious Basterds was the best film of last year. I'm long past the point of trying to defend my movie enjoyments. I like what I like. As long as I had a good time, who cares what others think?

I don't think I can put together 15 hated films, but here are two:

1. Slapstick (of Another Kind)
This is without a doubt the worst movie I have ever seen. This film is literally soul-crushing. DO NOT WATCH IT! A little piece of yourself will die, and you will never, ever get it back. This is not hyperbole, do not endeavor to watch this "film."

2. Feed
Agressivley unpleasant. Not instant death like Slapstick, just really dumb. Don't watch it.

Here goes

1. Godzilla (1998) - I remember being psyked to see this as they were keeping how Godzilla looked in the film such a big secret. Okay so opening night we are standing in line at the mall after hours so the shops are closed. Of course the toy store close to the movie theater had a prominate display of the toys they set up after closing right in front so we all got a good view of how craptastic Godzilla looked. I should have went with my gut feeling and left the line right then and there, but I was with friends. At least the Japanese got their revenge on Roland Emmerich years later.

2. Speed 2 - Cruise Control - It should have been subtitled: Snooze Control. I fell asleep at work while watching this. Granted it was a slow tuesday morning, but still.

3. War of the Worlds (2005) - Spielberg really dropped the ball on this one. On principle I dislike Tom Cruise, but I am willing to admit he has a few good performances that I do like (Interview With A Vampire, Minority Report, Magnolia). Here his character is completely unlikable, and I get that he was supposed to be an 'everyman/joe schmo' thrown into extraordinary circumstances. The CGI aliens were awful, and but for a few inspired action sequences the rest of it was really dull (there's something really awesome going on just over that hill, but you'll just have to trust me on it  )

4. Land of the Lost (2009) - completely misses the fun and the point of the 70's show. Plus I have never seen a film more hyped and marketed towards children before that was not a kids movie!!!!

5. Boondock Saints (1999) - now this might be blasphemy as this film is widely regarded in some circles as a prime example of low budget filmmaking that works. It has an somewhat interesting story, and I like Willem Dafoe's performance a lot. I think this is a case of subsequent viewings the ineptitude of the director comes through for me. Almost every sequence in the film ends with a fade out!. That really annoys me. Plus his general douchery has tainted this one beyond redemption for me. I don't plan on ever watching the sequel.

6. Going Overboard (1989) - Lo and behold Adam Sandler's first film. Try to get past the first 5 minutes...

7. Armageddon (1998) - Now I have a pretty big suspension of disbelief when it comes to science fiction/or action films, but this takes the cake for overblown productions. Ben Affleck's 'I love you!' moment with Liv Tyler is probably the most contrived sequence ever committed to celluloid. If Hollywood had enough brains they would have combined this with the more serious Deep Impact, and balanced out the faults in both and you would have had a decent film.

8. Night of The Living Dead 3D (2006) - completely pointless, and an insult to the makers and actors of the original. Sid Haig should know better, but meat's meat and man's gotta eat I guess.

9. Highlander II : The Quickening - they're aliens??? Whut???

10. House of the Dead (2003) - Uwe Boll, 'nuff said about that one.

11. Alone In The Dark (2005) - Another Uwe Boll masterpiece... this time adapting the great-grandfather of survivial horror games. What could have been a fun Lovecraftian mystery turns out to be a complete unwatchable mess.

12. Batman and Robin (1997) - George Clooney playing George Clooney. Much more enjoyable to watch without the sound turned on.

13. Congo (1995) - I have to agree with an earlier poster about this one, another over-hyped/over marketed film that was somewhat exciting up until they actually arrive at the lost city. Then it all goes downhill. (Note to future filmakers the plot device of a lost land being around for untold millennia that ends in cataclysmic destruction within mere hours of the appearance of white explorers is way overused).

14. Donnie Darko (Director's Cut) - I really enjoyed Donnie Darko, so when I heard there was a director's cut coming out I was excited. Whatever mystique there was for me about the original is just about ruined here. From the unecessary song changes, and explanations tacked on, I just hated it.

15. This is reserved for any film that uses a sequence where the actors suddenly sing along to a nostalgic song to manipulate the audience into some sort of phony emotional response. (Jerry MaGuire, My Best Friend's Wedding...ect)

Whew... that felt good to get off of my chest.

hehe... not really, I think he could do better... But its really hard for him to improve when a bunch of tweens think he's movies are the best thing that happen in horror in a long, long time. Although I guess those tweens never seen Mother's Day.

Ladies and Gentlemen...I have witnessed the absolute worst movie EVER. Nukie, Manos, Uwe Boll's filmography...all have their fans. This is hellish, cancerous tumor was meant for an audience of I would say 13-15 year old girls that wish they were 17-18 year old girls. My sister waited all day for it to come one Nick-at-Nite, even she, a 15 year old girl, was at a loss for words.

Speed 2 has always had a place in my heart since I saw Frank DeCaro's Daily Show review.  "Sandra, put down that coke spoon - look what it did to Captain Stubing!"  And then the epic slo-mo of Willem Defoe making the creepiest face in history.  Awesome.

The movie itself is terrible, but I always smile when I think of it now.

I could see that too, since it tries to like high school nowadays but they had to keep it PG-13 (the word "bimbo" is used, in absence of "ho", I presume)...so there is a lot of 15 legs and skirts barely showing off the butt.

That and being filled to the brim with the latest tween jams.

Oh sweet lord it's horrible.

But they shoot monkeys in it...with machineguns.
How can you not love it?

Oops . . . I forgot Lucio Fulci's CONQUEST.  Every moment of this movie is pure torture.  I had to watch it in short increments over a long period of time.  I thought I'd never get to the end.

Oh yeh, I really didn't like BROKEMYBACK TRYIN' TO MOUNT 'IM.  The sheep go up the mountain.  The sheep go down the mountain.  The sheep go up the mountain.  The night I saw it - in a theatre - ( :hatred:) I made up a little ditty to go with the twangy six note guitar theme: "That  movie  was  boring  boring  boring... That  movie  was  boring  boring  boring..."  Me and my lady friend sang it all the way home.

I almost laughed myself to death when I saw that it was actually played on a double bill with "Inside Man" at a theater.  :bouncegiggle:
