Free Speech my ass!  Your thoughts?

 Cyber bullying is a real problem and schools should take it seriously. She did get in a fight at school and im sure that contributed to her suspension.

Instead of the mother whining about free speech she should use this experience to teach her daughter that people who behave ugly, get treated ugly.

Say what now?  She posted something "mean" on Facebook.  The other girl started a fight.  One is clearly "uglier" behavior than the other, and the Facebooker is far less in the wrong.

We have no idea what she posted. She could have said all kinds of nasty, slanderous things. I dont know. I also dont know who started the fight as I wasnt there. we are only going on the word of the girl in the article. Of course if she was jumped it is wrong but she is not innocent in this.

My point about the mother was this.. Instead of making excuses for her daughters behavior by saying she can post whatever she wants, this is a free speech issue! she should teach her that its not nice to call people names and to apologize for her behavior.

Both girls are wrong but one mother obviously wants to make a federal case out of it.

I saw a bit on the news tonight.  The jist was that commentary was made, obscenely, about their basketball coach on facebook.  Screw this sh!t.  They should be punished.  I can't abide hiding behind baloney in order to fail to take responsibility for one's own actions.
