Title: Malware redirect (probably from a Flash ad) Post by: GoHawks on March 05, 2010, 04:04:53 AM I just opened up Badmovies.org in my browser a minute ago, and the front page initially came up (with a blank spot for an ad at the top) for a split second before I was redirected to a fake security site. The URL I was redirected to is (replace the '_dot_'s with '.'s):
"http://www1_dot_contobeonline_dot_in/?p=p52dcWtkal%2FCj8bYbn2Ai1ik12qYVp%2FZatrauZqqppeLw8ydb5aYfX1rXq3VmaGbYpZhZ2htm2CVYVbZocTY2KR0Y1zWnomtm6ilmXVanqLNkqGMp5mSq29ezZ2fZ2aUXpmSl2NlZGaL08ifb1qtp3Vlam%2BYZJueZmZiWqarlmqTYmadZJqcmGdsWJnInriM" The page had the usual BS "tools" to download, and if I tried closing the window a fake security message came up instead. I was using Internet Explorer version 7.0.6000.16982 running on Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit (w/o SP1) with all Windows Updates (except SP1) installed. This same thing happened a few months ago. I started a thread about it then here (http://www.badmovies.org/forum/index.php/topic,126712.msg288146.html#msg288146). This appears to be the same redirect as the last time (at least the page I was redirected to looked the same). Title: Re: Malware redirect (probably from a Flash ad) Post by: Andrew on March 05, 2010, 07:36:47 AM Roger. That is two of these in the last 24 hours from the other thread opened here. I believe I know which network is sending the ad. I am turning it off and notifying the network. Tracking these down can be difficult. I tried loading the pages quite a few times so that I could verify which network sent the ad, but no joy.
