That's the thought behind Last Call, an interactive horror film in which the main character calls a random audience member for help. Even though they knew their efforts were useless, moviegoers have long tried to help the ill-fated protagonists of horror movies. "Run!" "Hide!" "Don't go down there!" In Last Call, a new German movie, the characters are finally willing to listen. Audience members supply their cell numbers at the beginning of the screening and, at one point in the movie, one phone is selected to receive a call from the character on screen. Voice recognition software listens for the moviegoer's commands and the story unfolds based on their instructions. Post by: Jim H on March 15, 2010, 10:41:13 PM I remember reading about this in a magazine once, about some short films that had similar tech, though it was for more basic (used levers to allow audiences to vote, majority rules). It could be a lot of fun if the idea works well and the movie is well-constructed. It's very hard to plan out all the permutations, but I'd love to experience the sort of thing myself in a theatre.

Post by: feiyen on March 18, 2010, 05:27:28 PM I think they first started this in 1959 with the movie THE TINGLER with creatures that live in your vertebrate that grows when ever you feel fear, to keep them in check you had to scream. So they rigged the theater chairs to vibrate on your back making you think its the Tingler and you had to scream.
