Title: Marmaduke (Live Action) Post by: Olivia Bauer on March 17, 2010, 10:20:33 PM If Garfield and it's sequel sucked more than Pauly Shore's acting school and humiliated "The King of Comedy" Bill Murray, what makes you think a movie about a comic with 0 plot and jokes children don't get is a good concept. Who I ask you would even consider watching this?
Movie Data: http://www.movieweb.com/movie/FIg8Qiig3Ttqji While we're at it let's try making a live action Family Circus. Title: Re: Marmaduke (Live Action) Post by: Skull on March 17, 2010, 10:37:30 PM The movie will bring in an automatic 30 million based on the name and the history. Its a kid movie... another 15 million. Sold on DVD by xmas... 20 million...
If the movie is good it should make 3 to 5 times more... Title: Re: Marmaduke (Live Action) Post by: retrorussell on March 17, 2010, 11:13:49 PM Weren't we already tortured enough with cutesy "big, dumb, but loveable dog" movies?
Examples: Beethoven, Turner And Hooch, K-9, etc. Title: Re: Marmaduke (Live Action) Post by: Skull on March 18, 2010, 06:39:29 AM Weren't we already tortured enough with cutesy "big, dumb, but loveable dog" movies? Title: Re: Marmaduke (Live Action) Post by: JaseSF on March 19, 2010, 01:39:16 AM I agree with Circus. But then I also liked the CGI Garfield films too...nowhere near as much as those older films though.

Title: Re: Marmaduke (Live Action) Post by: Mr. DS on March 19, 2010, 08:45:09 PM I don't think I've ever read the comic and laughed...not even once. So I guess I'll skip out on this one.

Title: Re: Marmaduke (Live Action) Post by: Jim H on March 20, 2010, 02:55:03 AM The most baffling thing to me is that Marmaduke talks. Never did like the comic much, but Marmaduke talking renders the comics entire concept meaningless.

Don't forget "Because of Win-Dixie"...
Or whatever It's called. Actually wasn't "Marley & Me" about a stupid dog? (That also has the 'dog killing' cliche) Also, what was "My Dog Skip" about? Finally, the most silly and over-rated dog film of all time: "Airbud" Title: Re: Marmaduke (Live Action) Post by: Monster Jungle X-Ray on March 20, 2010, 10:36:49 PM While we're at it let's try making a live action Family Circus. But only if a dotted line follows the characters wherever they go. Title: Re: Marmaduke (Live Action) Post by: joejoeherron on March 21, 2010, 04:47:45 AM another dog movie, well that's just great

(That also has the 'dog killing' cliche) Yeah, but Marley and Me was a true story. I don't now if actual events count as cliche. I could imagine some Hollywood idiot like Jonathan R. Betuel dying a mastiff red and dubbing it "a big red dog". |
