Title: Columbus Day - starring Val Kilmer! Post by: akiratubo on March 18, 2010, 05:05:45 PM Have you ever wanted to watch Val Kilmer talk on his cellphone for about an hour and a half? Then, buddy, Columbus Day is the movie for you! Ok, I exaggerate. He only talks on his cell phone for about 45 minutes, it's a pay phone for the other 45 minutes.
The, er, "plot" is like so: Val Kilmer steals a briefcase. There's something in it. He calls people on his cell phone and a pay phone, trying to find a buyer for whatever's in the case. Eventually, he ransoms it back to the very person from whom he stole it, gets back together with his ex-wife, and they go to Florida. This takes 90 MINUTES! 90 MINUTES! As an aside, EVERYBODY in the movie never stops talking about how much they want to go to Florida, even though they appear to be from Southern California. I don't know what's so great about Florida (beaches, good weather) as opposed to SoCal (beaches, good weather). Well, Val wants to go there to visit his estranged daughter but why everyone else is so freaking keen on it, I have no idea. |
