Title: NIGHT OF THE DRIBBLER (2009)
Post by: indianasmith on March 28, 2010, 08:02:01 AM
This was a bad movie. It had some fairly funny moments - Fred Travalena played three different roles (the coach, the team's announcer, the detective), and was his usual funny self in all of them, but I guess the operative word here was "lame." This movie was trying to be the AIRPLANE!! of basketball and just kept falling short.  A few of the jokes were fairly funny (the black and white detectives named Mel Glover and Danny Gibson, for example), but by and large, the movie needed something.  They could have pumped it up and made it more edgy, going for the R-rated AMERICAN PIE kind of humor, or they could have made it a bit more obviously for kids.  As it was, this movie couldn't seem to make up its mind if it was AIRPLANE, SCREAM, or an afternoon kid's TV comedy.  It is worth a watch,  if you can catch it onthe cheap shelves, but could have been a whole lot better.

This was awful but had a few entertaining moments. Fred Travalena did annoy me though, as I was not familiar with him at all.
Still, one could do worse and I guess it won't hurt to watch Night of the Dribbler once.
