Title: Information Geek reviews Osamu Tezuka's Metropolis
Post by: InformationGeek on April 12, 2010, 10:54:15 AM
Anime Month continues!

I was, once again, more serious with this review than normal, but I did make a few more jokes when it seemed apporiate.  I wanted be more funny, but this movie was too serious for me to make many jokes.  It is, without a doubt, probably now in my Top 20 Best Movies I have ever seen.

I can't say if it is faithful to the source material of the manga or original film, but it sure succeds as a movie.  You got to see this at least once.  Enjoy!

Glad you like the film, it certainly had an impact on me.

I tracked down the soundtrack years ago, hoping it had the Ray Charles tune on it. It doesn't, but it has a bunch of great jazzy numbers, mixed in with some off-the-wall Japanese scoring. Worth tracking down.
