I can't remember the name of the movie for the life of me.
But the characters were in like some space station, it was like a full fledged city with 1000s of people. But they had this game they played were the they would get into giant robots (or more like gundam -robot style suits) and fight each other to the death in the ring, kind of like a coliseum or arena.
Aliens of all sorts were involved. It was definitely a late 70's 80's b or c style scifi,
But I wouldn't mind seeing it again. If anyone has any clue about what I'm talking about.

This sounds like "Robot Jox" more than anything else.

The movie could also be "Arena" (1989) which featured a human combatant battling aliens in a space age boxing ring. There are various alien creatures; some of which have robotic body parts.

My vote is that Phege saw Arena and Robot Jox and mixed them together in his recollection.

When I read his post, that's what came to mind.

akiratubo: that might just be it I might have mashed them both together I was pretty young when I saw "the movie". Arena does look familiar I remember seeing it at some point. Thanks for the help guys.
