But . . . . Spider Man isn't black . . . he never has been!
I don't understand this push.  Why paint a white hero black?  Why not just create a black hero?

He could be spider-man's genetic clone created in some freaky accident just like what happened in the comics except with a white dude.

I can see it: "Spider-Man's soul brother!" "If you thought Spider-Man 3 was dark, wait 'till you see what we got in store!"

Not even with a million signed petitions no studio would make that move. but hey, Blaxploitation Spiderman.  :teddyr:

It seems a bit of a stretch to see Spiderman played by a black actor, but it'd not be a first for a white comic book character, in the Marvel Universe, to be played by a black man. Kingpin, in the comic books "Daredevil" and "Spiderman," who has always appeared to me as a white man, was voiced by the black actor Roscoe Lee Browne in the animated series "Spiderman." And he was portrayed by black actor Michael Clarke Duncan in the film "Daredevil."

I don't see why this is getting as much attention as it is.  It's not only a bad idea, but an idea that no studio would ever support.

I don't get it.  Spiderman has always been a caucasin dude.  Maybe they would have a Micheal Jackson spin on it.  Peter Parker was not happy as a white boy, so he became a soul brother.

It would not be Soul Man.   :bouncegiggle:

If They Get A Black Actor To Play The Next SPIDERMAN

Then They Should Get A White Actor To Play The Next SHAFT :teddyr:

I thought Spider Man was Tobey Maguire... who else can I identify Spider Man with, after all those movie were made fairly recently.

Why not make a movie about a black superhero? There are a couple kicking around, after all.
