This is one of those "grindhouse collection" DVD's. I don't know the exact definition of grind house. I would describe these as drive in style movies with soft nudity and some shocking violence.  they weren't great, both scripts were probably written the same day but I would consider buying this if I could find it cheap and I don't buy movies at all really.

Pick up (1975)- the print is not quite as good as the teacher but it's a cooler movie. 2 hippy chicks hitch a ride with some guy who is driving a bus to someone somewhere. It's not full of drugs, he isn't a secret agent, hes is really just delivering a bus. Who knows why someone had a bus somewhere and wanted it someplace else. Anyway, they end up camping out in the Everglades and that's where the WEIRDNESS starts: long shots of the forest with weird frickin music and sounds, then they up the ante with a clown, a priest and all sorts of stuff from the one relatively disturbed hippies subconscious. and of course they have sex with each other.

I don't usually care for surreal movies but this one was so homeade and silly that I did enjoy it. Some of the stuff is actually pretty clever. They didn't put a ton of thought and feeling into it but they did put some. Though I'm sure it had some popular appeal in it's day it's more a film geek type movie (as you could probably tell already) now and is slow, confusing, and a little nasty in places (they shoot and cook a wild boar, for example). 3.75/5

The Teacher (1974)- Jay ward who played Dennis the Menace is a kid in a town that seemingly has no laws. Well, they have one law, when the kid goes on a date with his teacher the waitress won't serve him wine, but does look the other way when the teacher herself pours it for him. Besides that it is seemingly every man and hot teacher for theirself. You can stalk whoever you like, bang your teacher and when some one mysteriously dies there is no trial or investigation or anything.

The teacher whoever she is is smoking hot and frequently topless. The kid is believably dorky and they have a fair amount of chemistry between them. There are more explicit movies like this out there, and ones with stronger plots (Triangle comes to mind) but this has that crappy 70's feel you like. The scenes with the kid and the teacher are like being on an akward date or one of those cougar reality shows. like "The Cougar".

the teacher banging the student barely raises an eyebrow and everyone knows about it. They're like "oh yes".  She's married too.  In short we have a lot to learn from this movie. It moved a little quicker than Pick Up.

also 3.75/5

I'm pretty sure these grindhouse two-fer DVDs only started appearing when death proof/planet terror came out. cash-in genre revival on the back of tarantino's name methinks  :teddyr:  I've got a couple but not this one, cool review though, I may get round to purchasing this one

I have this DVD as part of 10-movie "Drive-In Classic" collection. I've only watched Pick-Up and half of The Teacher so far.

I was actually rather impressed with Pick-Up. Sure it's a tawdry bit of '70s sleaze, but they manage to venture into a fairly decent exploration of '70s-style mysticism/hang-ups that work rather well. The female leads help. One is the dark serious astrology obsessed archetype, the other is cute as a button. I recommend it.

The Teacher is a bit creepy, but then again I really didn't want to see Dennis the Menace as the seduced innocent. lester1/2jr is right about the attractiveness of the actress.

I'll get to the other eight movies eventually, but I think your mileage will vary by just how much you are willing to watch inconsequential movies just for naked ladies. Lucky for me, I don't need that much more in movies.

Check out Pick-Up, though. It's not bad!
