This looks awesome!

I read an interview with the director and it sounds like a blast of a concept, but I really really hope that it isn't crap...

Basically the tidbit in the interview he mentioned that makes me think its going to be great:  Predator hounds!  That and the hunters in this one have different 'gadgets' like a Predator with a UAV, and the aforementioned hounds.

I just wonder how they can have such a small human cast and keep up the mayhem!

Yeah, the relatively low number of humans does make me wonder.  I'm betting they'll really drag out and parse out the deaths, and only one or two characters will survive.  Meaning seven or eight human deaths (there are nine humans, they just don't show all the characters in the trailer - did you know Topher Grace is in this?).

Not to mention we'll get some good grue from killed predators and the hounds.  Word is that the predators in this are significantly different, physically and culturally, but that there is one of the "old school" predators in this - who, I'm assuming, will get killed by the other preds as an intruder or some such.

But I do have some confidence this will be at least entertaining.  Partly written and produced by Rob Rodriguez, and directed by Antal (who did the decent Kontroll and a few others), there's real hope.  Unlike the AVP films.  Even though I find the first film entertaining, they were basically doomed from the start based on who was making them.

The story actually evolved from a sequel script  treatment that  Rodriguez wrote  back in the 80's.  A group of humans including Arnold's character Dutch from the first movie were taken to the Predators planet in order to be hunted.

There were only 8 characters in the original  (yes, but only one Predator).

Topher Grace plays a serial killer and I think the rest are various mercenaries and military types.
