Here They Go Again: Whitesnake Hit 10 Million Views On YouTube
Back in 1987 when the original video vixen, Tawny Kitaen, first cartwheeled atop her future ex-husband David Coverdale's Jaguar XL (and into metal fans' hearts) in Whitesnake's "Here I Go Again" video, she and the band probably had no idea how iconic that image would become. But this week, it was announced that the video has generated more than 10 million views on YouTube, after being available on the site for only a year. That may not sound too impressive compared to record-holder Justin Bieber's nearly 250 million spins, but considering that the "Here I Go Again" video made its MTV premiere 23 years ago (and that the song was actually first recorded in 1982), it's remarkable that it has held up so well...

Can't give you video exactly, but here it is, kick it in the a$$, it'll work:

Anyone that says this song isn't a lyrical and musical masterpiece is a heathen  :teddyr:

This Video is not available in your country.

I guess it would have more views if YouTube wouldn't have to block parts of Europe because of copyright issues  :bluesad:

The song "Is This Love" has kind of grown on me in my later years.

I'll admit that Whitesnake was before my time (so I'm a young'un; I can't help that I was born too late to enjoy Whitesnake), but I really dug that song. Thanks!

Not available in Europe, eh? That makes it all the more impressive: they hit 10 million views without Circus' help.  :buggedout:

I think to remember that they cleared copyright issues with the UK.
YouTube refused to pay royalties to GEMA, a performance rights organization from Germany. In order not to get sued YouTube is blocking music videos for German viewers from artists associated with GEMA. That would be 61% of all music released worldwide.
Germany don't get to see Lady GaGa videos on YouTube either, which is the only win in this rather sucky situation.

Anyway, yay Whitesnake.

I don't know anything about the case, but YouTube isn't in the business of paying royalties to anyone.  95% of all music videos on YouTube are copyright violations posted by individuals. "Here They Go Again" is one of the few legitimate videos on YouTube, posted by a company called VEVO who bought/owns the music video rights.  VEVO is the one who doesn't want to pay royalties, and who will voluntarily block the video from German users.

The irony, of course, is that it's very easy for GEMA and organizations like it to block the legitimate, authorized version of the video, but there's little to nothing they can do about all the other copies.
