Being an out-of-town student living in someone's basement does hamper me a bit since I can't buy a gun without losing the roof over my head and I don't have a lot of space for anything, let alone storing several weeks' worth of canned food.
I still think this city could effectively deal with a zombie outbreak thanks to our small size and the presence of a valley with steep sides and a river. Get some nets in that river, lure all or at least most of the zombies into the valley, pick them off from a safe distance and then set up a 24-hour armed patrol. It'd probably fall apart, though, since it'd probably be difficult to get enough people to take up the kind of militaristic discipline needed to pull it off (there is no military base even close to here). BUT that being said, I do have the Zombie Survival guide and have read it, and know a good few places to stake out in the case of a zombie related emergency so we'll see how it goes.

I'm pretty good with a rifle and I know how to handle a handgun for defense. BUT if I am with my hubby, I think we'd have a much better chance. He's tall, big and he knows how to handle knives, guns, shovels whatever to try and survive!
