Having three kids, I am convinced some people freak out way too much over some of the simplest things because they are idiots. It's not like a kid who Seaseme Street is targeted towards has not seen cleavage long before now. All they have to do is go shopping with their parents to see anything far worse than that in person. There is far worse things they should be worried about with their kids than if they see the natural seperation line between a woman's breast.

Its particularly funny since she was wearing a body suit that made it look like she was showing cleavage, when in fact it was just skin coloured cloth that went up to her neck.

Kind of makes you wonder what the point of that was, since I wouldn't have realised unless I was told...

The other comment I saw on a different article is also quite funny:  "I don't know what the fuss is about, I mean, Elmo's there and he's naked!"

I commented that all I had was Maria growing up, fully clothed.  :bluesad:

I'm betting most of the regular audience of this show has been pressed up against nipples more recently than the people who filed this complaint.  It's not like kids are strangers to boobs.  Even still, as mentioned she wore flesh-colored fabric.

I saw the story on the news last night. What I thought was hilarious was that they aren't going to air the bit to a bunch of pre-schoolers that won't have the slightest clue what's wrong with it. Instead, they'll parade it around on the news so that all us adults and older kids who WILL have a clue can get to see Katy Perry's cleavage.

America rules.

lol... I've convinced when silly mothers wanted to ban "Married with Children" because they were too lazy to a) watch what the kids were watching and b) change the freaking channel.

Also it seems silly to go on Seaseme Street when all the celebrities are on Yo Gabba Gabba!

Out of good old fashioned spite towards society I let my son watch it who loved the clip.  He said nothing of boobage.

This could explain why Janice was never featured on Sesame Street...

Well if Americans are worried about cleavage and separation lines, it's damn good that they didn't get Samantha "38G" Andersen from Big Naturals to play on Sesame Street...although I'd have paid to see THAT  :hot:

I was basically making a joke about the "stick up the ass" mentality that's making a big deal out of this issue, and saying that it could have been much worse.

However, you do make a good peripheral point about kids and restricted media.

In this day and age, anything adults see on TV, kids eventually wind up subject to.  Not every parent sends their kids to bed at 9 PM, just as some kids are left alone with computers and other forms of electronic media while their parents work.

And let's face it..thanks to the twisted minds of some of their older classmates, most kids know more about this stuff (and other stuff) than you think.

So while I was just making a joke about the situation, it in no way underplays the real-life situation that kids are getting exposed to things they shouldn't.

I knew you weren't referring to my comment, and that's why I was harmonizing with your  opinion about kids and restricted media. I totally agree with you on all fronts, that kids are searching for (and finding) way different things than kids of old...
