I thought it might be kind of fun if a bunch of us watched the same movie on the same night (or at least the same weekend), and then posted our comments / ripped it to shreds afterwards.  I figured the easiest way to do this would be to choose something that's available on Netflix streaming, since you wouldn't have to actually go out and rent or buy it.  We could vote on which movie to watch;  who knows, we might get exposed to stuff we wouldn't normally watch.  Or maybe you could inflict some pain on your fellow members  :teddyr:

Kind of sucks for people who don't have Netflix, but if anyone thinks this is a good idea and doesn't have streaming, maybe they could start their own movie night.

So, any takers?  Please feel free to suggest a movie.  Maybe we could schedule it for this coming weekend?

I'd be keen except we can't get netflix streaming in this country. 

BUT, it sounds essentially like a book club: we all watch a movie over a weekend or something and give a good discussion about it afterwards.

Good idea, Jack.  I'll just throw this out as an invitation: the next bad movie I'll be watching on Netflix streaming is THE APPLE (1980).  It's a "classic" I've never seen before and it just became streamable. 

I'll watch it on Saturday, whether anyone wants to join me or not!

My bad movie watching is largely limited by family obligations and a heavy work and school schedule, so I may not be able to catch this one, but goodness, The Apple looks amazing. I've never even heard of it. The one and only George Clinton helped with the music. I shall do my best.

Anyone else have an XBOX 360? With netflix you can get in a party chat and it puts you in a little movie theater with other people who are watching it. Then it will buffer the movie for everyone at the same time. Really kind of cool. If you have a headset you can talk to other people too and emote while in the little theater.

My friend and I watched Monsturd on it. Bad times.

When Netflix offers a streaming client for Linux, I'd jump all over this.(**)

Until then, I'll have to put the flick in the queue and hope I watch it somewhere "near" the time selected.

(**) DRM is the devil..I want to legally watch movies I am paying to rent, not steal them and distribute them.

When Netflix becomes available up here, I'd be up for it. I'd also love to possibly play a round of something afterward (I have all these games with online multiplayer, but I've had some bad experiences with playing with random people).

OK, anyone besides me watch THE APPLE?

This was not half as "bad" as I'd been warned.  It's obvious commercial inspiration was THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW; it's an attempt to make a deliberate midnight movie.  It's not completely successful, but it really is pretty watchable.  The plot's easy to follow, the songs are actually catchy, and the psychedelic sets and costumes give you something to watch all the time.  Even though there was a disco/glam-rock look to it, it seems like something that should have been made in 1969.  The ending is terrible, though!  Wow!  I'd give it 2.5/5, but I couldn't really argue if someone wanted to give it either 1 or 5 stars!

I use Ubuntu on my laptop and I have a Virtual Box image of XP that I use for Netflix streaming and a couple of other apps that are Windows only. The quality is pretty good even on a virtual machine.

Count me as one of the confused. I really wanted it to be George "P-Funk" Clinton. Damn.

I watched it last night!  I thought the songs were pretty awful... SPEED! what?  Maybe I need to understand disco more?  I loved the costumes!  I wish 1994 was really like that.   I wanted it to be more fun, but there was too much trouble between Alphie and Bibi and I was too upset to fully enjoy how fabulous everyone looked.. and then the hippies came and ruined everything.  I was fighting falling asleep the whole time so I don't think I could fairly rate it.. I would give it the lowest 2 ever as it stands.

I'm going to try and watch it sometime either today or tomorrow.  Seriously!   :teddyr:  Just haven't gotten a chance quite yet.

I do agree the Apple should of been made in 1969, it might of made more sense, although the story seemed too much disco for a hippy movie and seemed to cash-in with Saturday Night Fever (1977), Thank God It's Friday (1978) and The Wiz (1978) fans. Although I'm not sure if the movie script was complete or the director was told to wrap it up. The ending is 3 to 4 years later? And is Alphie breast feeding? (Ok he's not but it sure looks like he is).

I'm not sure where did Mr. Topps come from, I do admit the movie was hard to watch and my eyes were getting sleepy at times (or maybe I did sleep thru a scene or two).

actually Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (1978) has a better take on evil record company and other strangness.

Cool... Thank God It's Friday  is on the Netflix instant play  :hot: (I'm not sure if my wife has seen this movie) hehe.

At one point I think they mentioned that a year had passed between when Alphie and Bibi reunited.  But there was nothing to clue the audience in on the fact that we were about to flash forward into the future (and was there any real reason to?)  Mr. Topps came out of nowhere (they probably should have set him up with some foreshadowing somewhere along the line).  The ending was really rushed; it's like they suddenly realized they only had five minutes left to wrap this thing up!  It was clearly the worst, most insane part of the movie, which up until then I thought was more like a second tier "midnight movie" than a typical "bad movie."

lol... actually towards the ending when the "shield police" ambushed the Hippies they said there was a warrent for Bibi's arrest and I think her husband said she's been with me over a year.

But the boy/girl Alphie was carrying was at least 3 years old (not to mention his long beard).

Finally watched it last night and, much to my astonishment, I enjoyed it quite a bit  :teddyr:  The music was great, it's been about 20 years since I heard rock music performed by actual musicians - that was a real treat.  The characters were pretty good, although the whole character development via song didn't really make me feel like I knew them too well, but I guess it got the job done.  It was great to see that these folks actually had something to say that wasn't just the usual boilerplate PC rubbish.  I enjoyed the story, wacky as it was.  The ending...yeah.  As soon as that flying car showed up I'm like WTF?.  I'll still give it a 4/5 though.  I had a fun time, and it was definitely something I wouldn't have normally watched.   :thumbup:

Okay, I watched it.  I'm tremendously confused  :bouncegiggle:  It was like they tried to shoehorn the whole Sinbad thing into a regular cheeseball action/adventure movie, and just tossed in every idea they came up with, no matter if it made any sense or not.  The lead actor seemed pretty confused as to who the heck Sinbad was supposed to be as well.  

So, 10,000 years ago, a meteoroid crashed into the ocean, and caused all these weird monsters to come into existence.  Over time it got ticked off that people were polluting the environment, so it decided to destroy the planet.  Ummm...kind of cutting off the nose to spite the face, eh?  The final straw is when Sinbad's oil tanker sinks.  But wait a minute, it was sunk by the giant squid, which was created and is controlled by the meteorite.  That's one grouchy and illogical meteorite.  Anyhow, they've got 48 hours until the power runs out on the ship - um, it's 4 miles underwater? - and then the hatches will open and all the oil will spew out.  Hey, the world's coming to an end, what does it even matter?  Anyhoo, then Sinbad goes down in his minisub and extends some tube, which is actually a drill, and...what the hell happened there?  Some big cavern opened up under the sea floor and swallowed the ship?  But then  a minute later it's on the surface, still leaking oil all over the place?  But this makes the meteorite happy?

Ahhh...yeah.  I guess that's what happened.  Oh well, there were a couple hot babes in it at least.   :teddyr:

I'll be interested in hearing what you think of it.  I was, um...befuddled.  Yeah, that's the word   :teddyr:  My favorite part is when they're carried off by CGI pterodactyls (or somethign like that).  There's a nest of baby...somethings.  Dude, don't stick your head in there!  Oh, he stuck his head in there   :bouncegiggle:

Wow… wow… really wow…

First, this is an Asylum, and lately Asylum has been making “rip-offs” for big budget films, Although I have not seen the Robert Downey Jr Sherlock Holmes I did seen the Asylum version and it wasn’t “that bad.” Really. And I guess the people in Asylum were thinking of making a mother of “bad movies” actually I’m not sure what they were thinking because there is so much stuff going on that it seems to be 'snipped' a few areas to reduce the playtime (although I dont think it should matter since the movie was made for video and I hope Asylum can learn from this ~ 'Dont worrie about the playtime, we have a pause button).

The movie seems that is wasnt complete during filming and Asylum has additional material from another movie (I have a hard time buying this idea since 'Sinbad' is all over the place), or somebody kept switching the script (I picture a clown playing games here ~ I can actually see this happen) or the script was written by a message board with random input based upon “Sinbad” [and somebody in Asylum has thought it would be a good idea]. I’m not quite sure but I’m considering the latter.


Agree… this movie has everything ‘including the kitchen sink.’

What surprised me… There are actually scenes from this Sinbad movie that actually mirrors  the Lou Ferrigno’s Sinbad of the Seven Seas… Both movies fight sexy Amazon Ladies, a rock creature (the Cyclops looks like a rock creature), and a balloon towards the ending… there was also a few other similarities I’ve noticed but those stick out…

I do wish there was some evil wizard in the new version. This movie would be so much better with some crazy wizards with a Fu Manchu mustache, long fingernails and a baby dragon perched on his shoulder.

I do like the cgi effect and the whale with the trees on it’s tail looked quite good. Actually I’ve enjoyed the flying demon too.

I do want to point out… The 7 Adventures of Sinbad: The Persian Prince was good (visually) but too depressing for me to enjoy. I think it because Asylum is trying to rip-off or have their movie compete with 2012 (I don’t actually care for this kind of apocalyptic storyline) So another lesson for Asylum to learn (Asylum your not going to win any Oscars with a movie called: The 7 Adventures of Sinbad: The Persian Prince so omit the depressing feeling)

I think I should check Asylum’s website… (Maybe I should post on their message boards, they sure got the right idea although they need some direction…  :smile: )

Their website is pretty funny - they know their movies are bad and they're perfectly okay with that   :teddyr:  I really like some of their movies;  the ones that can be done well on a small budget.  It's when they try to make an epic on a couple million bucks that it fails.  At least for me.  But they explain on their site that they're in the business of staying in business, and those movies make money.  More power to them I guess  :bouncegiggle:

I recently watched their version of "Princess of Mars" which had Traci Lords as Dejah Thoris.

The Tharks also weren't quite what I imagined...

Shock Waves (1977) ~ Seen... actually I had more fun watching the new DVD version. Usually the movie is boring.

Star Pilot (1966) ~ I dont know if I did or didnt.

The Last House on the Left (1972) ~ Seen once and will never watch again... I dont see the intelligence in this movie except it's a rape revenge flick from the early 1970's when people are starting to adjust to see sex in the movies.

Queen of Blood (1966) ~ seen it (it's a must see if you didnt)

Blood Sucking Freaks (1976) ~ I've seen it, I'm not sure if my wife has but its fun... I do like the part with the darts...

Intruder (1989) ~ seen it, thought it was very typical for a slasher film.

I haven't seen Queen of Blood!  I think it sounds itneresting!  Butt! I saw that Casey Kasem is in Star Pilot and that's more interesting to me!

So, Star Pilot?  Sounds like it might be fun.  A guy on Netflix says "Imagine the dubbing quality of a bad Japanese monster movie combined with Ed Wood's frenetic dream of the perfect film, and you'll have some idea of what you're in for."    :thumbup:

Watched Star Pilot last night.  Started out pretty dull but the last half hour was entertaining enough - mostly due to the sexy space "uniforms" the girls were wearing  :teddyr:  It was sort of an interesting twist ending, rather unexpected in such a cheeseball movie.  I guess back in those days they used to write their own endings, instead of just following the formula that every other B movie "writer" follows these days.  The beginning reminded me of an old Godzilla movie, except with a hot girl filling in for the annoyingly loud male child character, which was very much appreciated.  Still, that part was so bad it was just bad.  Not bad enough to get me to turn it off though.  Overall, not a bad effort.  Probably not on the same level as stuff like Wild Wild Planet or The Snow Devils, but it was an interesting curiosity and I'm glad I saw it   :thumbup:

Oh, how could I forget - did they splice 5 minutes of a completely different movie into the middle of this thing?   :bouncegiggle: :bouncegiggle:

We tried watching it last night too, but we had company and it was kind of hard to follow, so we're going to catch it again.  You're right though, it did start kind of slow so my attention drifted away, but then I looked up and saw space gorillas and a girl in fishnet body suit and fluffy bikini and decided I needed to give it another try!  So I'll probably be checking it out again later today!

The fishnet body suit kind of renewed my interest in it as well   :teddyr:  The alien commander called it her "uniform"...what a military that must be   :buggedout:

I've dont know if you noticed Jack... under the title of the movie Star Piot in the beginning is dated 1977...

Also the story seemed to fit very well with Alfonso Brescia's War of the Robots (1978)... Have to watch it for a second time.

According to Netflix "Originally titled 2+5: Missione Hydra, the Italian sci-fi was renamed and rereleased in 1977 to cash in on the Star Wars craze."

I'll have to check out War of the Robots some day, I guess it's on a double feature DVD with War of the Planets.

lol... I own Cosmos: War of the Planets and War of the Robots on the same DVD set, I think I'd paided 10 to 15 dollars. I love them both for being over the top silly. I've also picked up Space Odyssey (which is part 3 in the series) for 1 dollar.

Although I have not seen Beast in Space (which is part 4 in the series)... I have it somewhere on the Netflix queue.

I've tried watching the movie for a second time (I did fell asleep somewhere when the ship launched into space and before it landed). I'm assuming 30 minutes or so. Yep, the story does fit very well with the Alfonso Brescia's space movies that I'd actually though he made Space Piot but he didnt, Director Pietro Francisci did...

I'll try to ketch the missing gap sometime this week.

Sexy women in fishnets space suits cannot keep a boring space story interesting. Somewhere in the boring space story is Casey Kasem... somewhere...

lol... we watch Monster Dog several months back on the THIS channel and it very was so fun but Edited and Loaded with commericals...

I can't even watch movies on broadcast TV any more.  I was trying to watch a horror movie on AMC and right during the scary part, a pop-up ad says "remain calm".  What the...?!?!  It was the beginning of an ad for their new show Walking Dead, which ran for the entire length of the scary part of the movie I was trying to watch.  :lookingup: 

And then lets cut away from the dark, foreboding terror for five minutes of the Geico Gecko and Vikings with Capitol One cards.

I dont understand how but we cannot fast forward any movies recorded on "THIS" thru our DVR. It's insane that the commericals are focused towards old people with "pee" problems, thinking of death and then woman on birth control and maybe something neat to buy like a super lazer pen that makes glowing in the dark items much brighter...

Actually Monster Dog was much better on Netflix then on "THIS"

Monster Dog is a very cool werewolf movie that is more geared towards pre American werewolf in London since the focus isn’t on the character transforming into the werewolf (at least until the ending of the movie). It also had more of an Italian feel (the music, clothing, actors except for Alice Cooper all seemed from Italy) although my wife pointed out the movie was Spanish... (Hmmm... Spanish and Werewolf... No Paul Naschy??? How could this be... although I have only seen one Paul Naschy werewolf move and for some oddball reason Frankenstein's Bloody Terror keeps coming in the mail broken  :bluesad: )

Viewing this movie for a second time, I'm more convinced that Monster Dog was movie project not intended for Alice Cooper to star. I think Alice Cooper was talked into making a music video as rock singer Vincent Raven, and the story is about the people working on the video or taking a vacation from their hard work. I’ve seen several other films made in the 1980’s that also has Rock Stars in smaller cameo’s (Adam Ant, Ozzy Osbourne)  and similar plot and I think Monster Dog is typically similar to those movies. Since I’m guessing here; I think Alice Cooper somehow enjoyed working with the director and got himself into starring the movie. Therefore explaining why Alice Cooper is the only American Actor in this film and the director adjusted the script for Alice Cooper.

One day, I would like to ask Alice Cooper how he got into Monster Dog. I think there is a fun background story to this movie.

Finally got around to watching Monster Dog last night  :teddyr:  Pretty entertaining overall.  Very MST3K'able - "Gee, thanks for standing there with the gun watching me get eaten alive.  Wouldn't want to shoot the weredogs or anything."  Loved when Alice missed the fact that there was  a huge freakin' werewolf in the backseat of the car!!!   :bouncegiggle:  Cooper was kind of odd in the main role, really didn't expect him to play such a calm, normal guy.  He was very good with animals though.  Pretty fun movie, I enjoyed it.   :thumbup:

Watched The Shape Of Things To Come last night.  Very much a Buck Rogers in the 25th Century type thing, except Buck always managed to have good pacing from beginning to end.  This started off with a bang, but then it shifted into low gear and pretty much stayed there for the remainder of the movie.  When they went to Earth to spend ten minutes with the children in the fright wigs I kind of knew it was hittin' the skids.  Pretty good characters, though too darned silly.  I liked the casting - Barry Morse played Dr. Victor Bergman in Space 1999, so it was nice to see him in a starring role.  And Eddie Benton was the bad girl in Prom Night;  definitely a different role here lol.  Wonder what possessed them to name the senator Smedley?   Watching those ridiculous robots waddle around and the even more ridiculous humans hitting them with medieval "weapons"...I mean, c'mon, you guys haven't got a single laser gun?  This is the future for pete's sake!

Still, entertaining enough.  Nice little slice of late '70s cheese.

I've heard stories how this movie has nothing to do with HG Wells story, although I have not read the HG Wells book but I did seen Things to Come; the 1936 film and was judge The Shape Of Things To Come to the 1936 film...

though the only part that The Shape Of Things To Come was similar towards Things to Come is within the first 10 minutes of the movie... or it could be the first 5 minutes... anyway the outside window of the office in the 1979 movie seemed to match the future world in the 1936 film; though I believe it wasnt a backdrop but an actually outside scene, of some future looking building in the late 1970's. (but I could be wrong)


As for the movie itself, it was quite typical towards a Buck Rogers story... without Buck. I think the fun part of the story was towards the end as Jack was wearing a waterbottle on his head.

Has anyone watched Shock Waves?

I watched Shock Waves...good premise and a few decent actors, including Peter Cushing. Downside is I could barely make out most of the dialog, the film has no blood, too slow and the music gets annoying. Netflix desperately needs subtitles.

Be really cool if you could do a real time Rifffest like the ones MST3K did a long time ago. Subtitles showed up as the film played along.

I couldn't stand the movie so I watched Shock Waves, is that alright?

Watched Hot T-Shirts, that was about exactly what I would expect from a T&A movie from 1980.  Not real heavy on plot or characters  :teddyr:  It kind of made me feel good to see the guy be so successful with keeping his bar in business.  Ah, the plight of small businessmen having to employ new marketing paradigms to overcome increased competition in the marketplace.  I can't imagine being a wet T-shirt contest judge, I'd vote for about half the contestants.  Really liked the college girls! 

We saw Hot Tshirts too!  It was probably the happiest movie I’ve seen in years!  I loved it!  The acting wasn’t even that bad like you see in most t&a movies!  Usually when I’m watching one of those booby movies, I kind of get the idea (and later find out its true) that the actors are used to being in much more “adult” movies because they look a little drunk and surprised to be there, but these guys were OK!  I wanted to give everyone a great big hug!  Although, it did make me a little uncomfortable in the end when Ms. Juggy Dazzlepants got up there and upstaged all the girls.. they just sort of stood there staring and couldn’t get back into their wigglin and jiggling groove… but then we saw her buttcrack and everything was alright!  I preferred the local girls over the snooty college girls though.

So what are we watching next? I'd reccomend Shock Wave, its like Zombie Lake except not as bloody or terrible...buts its still pretty bad.

Trekkie313 ~ lol, actually we (my wife and I) seen Shock Waves thru Netflix a few month's ago; actually it was much better then how I've remembered watching it years ago (Shock Waves was one of those boring movies that I could never finished). I believe the letterbox was an improvement and the DVD seemed much clearer. I havent not seen Shock Waves streaming on Netflix yet, but I'm going to assume it's as good as the DVD version.

As for Hot t-shirts.... My wife said it quite nicely... a feminist nightmare!

I also enjoyed the film and the disco music! I also like how the story actually made a good point towards the end. Another poke in the eye of the feminist argument (marriage isnt necessary)...

PS... it was also funny to listen to my wife say "they are cheating!" as the woman were flashing thier boobs... :)

 I just couldn't help but laugh everytime that Charlie guy smacked a girl on the butt.. partially because it's so rude that it's funny, and also because I know it makes feminists mad.

I liked the local girls too.  But the snooty college girls, well, there's no denying they had a lot of talent at their chosen profession  :teddyr:

I know I've seen Shock Waves way more times than necessary, I think I just watched it for at least the 3rd time about a month ago. I saw JCVH not too long ago too.

I still want to see Vicious Lips!  a few more options - Tentacles and The Immortalizer.

I warn you though, I have a knack for unitentionally picking movies that turn out to be undercover pornos. 

I've used it several times and it's literally the equivalent of us being in a MST3K episode.

Vicious Lips sounds great to me  :teddyr:  You've got an '80s pseudo-punk band, some sort of monster, and it's sci-fi I guess;  what else could a person possibly want!  Tentacles sounds kind of interesting too, seems like an all-star cast decided to make a b movie.

That Xbox 360 thing sounds really fun, but I don't have one.

Damn you Microsoft, why can't the PS3 have this? I mean we have voice party-chat in HOME.

Mz. Juggy Dazzlepants (Judy) was none other than one of my All time Fave B-Movie starlettes Corinne Alphen! I loved this movie too and not just for obvious reasons. Sure it was a cheesefest but it moved along quickly and although the plot was obvious from beginning to end it was well acted.
Some of my favorite parts:

Mrs. Sherman - Her dialogue was peppered with funny alliteration, "Salomes in our Society!". And who could not like her getting up and doing the Charleston with the girls!

The Sheriff - Butterfly open collars as a uniform? Only in the 70's


Violet - Whats a T&A movie without a town nympho? She was great.

Rosa - That outfit they "stuffed" her in to serve pizza. What a hoot.

Joe - Kind of like a poor mans John Belushi only without all the funny stuff. lol I liked his character and loved it how he went from sad sack to town hero at the end.

The disco music - So wonderfully terrible..."WET! My body's soakin we-eeeet!"

The T-Shirts - Amazing what a pair of scissors and some Christmas tinsel can do.

I'm down with Vicious Lips tonight if everyone else agrees although I think I suggested that one also so I'm ok with another choice.  :smile:

Watched Vicious Lips last night.  It, well...it wasn't a big favorite of mine.  Kind of a chore to actually sit through the whole thing.  I loved the music, probably would have rather listened to a CD of that rather than watch this, which seemed more like a demo for the band than a movie.  The story couldn't be taken seriously because it was completely silly.  I don't really like stuff like that;  if I can't feel any sense of drama or realism at all, it just seems like a waste of time.  The characters were total cliches:  b***hy girl, normal girl, druggie girl, comedy relief manager, and the main girl who starts out innocent, turns into a selfish b***h, then realizes the importance of sticking together.  The attempts at comedy just left me rolling my eyes.  I was putting it on pause to see how much time was left to the end.

I guess I found out why I've never heard of this movie before it showed up on Netflix  :teddyr:  Oh well, just wasn't my type of thing.  Maybe you guys and gals will like it more  :smile:

lol... at first I was thinking Howard the Duck (without the Duck or George Lucas financial backing) although the smoky scene and the ladies wearing shoulder pads suits... had a Noir feeling... almost like a low-low budget Blade Runner.

Then you got a hooker with 3 boobies... (oddly, I'm not sure if they look better then the 3 boobie chick in Total Recall)... although I like the 4 boobie chick in warrior and the sorceress...

The plot was clever... although I feel it was too clever for the budget or the film director to handle, and then the story fails... Characters backstabbing each other by word of mouth and the whole running thru a building (not actually sure since the director fails to show us a building that the space ship slided into... If there was a short cut on the crash it would of make more sense... although one would wonder why nobody seen the building at the first place)...

I'd sense this story could of been Rock Star (2001)... If the director actually took the time and showed us the concert in the future and then the fans reaction and then the bands reaction towads the galactic fame... wow this movie could of been the next Star Wars if done right...

Although I do question this dream concept... it seems the story was going too long for it's good so it was a forced wrap up at the end.

It was kind of reminiscent of Howard the Duck now that you mention it. 

I knew the movie was going downhill after the first flashback (which I believe was 10 minutes in the movie) but because the movie has such a cool idea I wanted to know what went wrong so I kept watching the train wreck.

Ha! We did that too!  It was hard to watch, but I liked all the stupid clothes and hair and make-up, and I'm glad that one girl that had the purple hair at first kept changing her look because I think that's the only thing that kept me interested!  That and trying to figure out what that blond mass on top of the lead singer's head was supposed to be.. a hat or a hairpiece?  I remember seeing it come off in a fight and thinking "Yes! finally I won't be weirded out by that thing anymore!".. and then it magically re-appeared.

I still don't know what happened.  Was it a dream or lunar madness?

Also, wasn’t the lead singer’s name supposed to be Ace?  On IMDB it says Ape!

I was always seeing somebody in the background who was totally unfamiliar.  Oh wait, that's just druggie girl with a new wig!  Ah well, at least the cast was attractive  :teddyr:

That is really not a bad movie, very underrated. The ending is great.

The Church?  Yeah, I've been meaning to watch it for years.

I know I've seen The Church, but I don't have the faintest memory of what it's about, so I could watch it again!  I kind of remember Asia Argento in it, and maybe some of the ending, but I could be confusing it with another movie.

Vampire Journals!!  I just watched that not too long ago when I had my Bloodstone-fest.  It's inferior to the Bloodstone movies, but it wasn't as bad as Vicious Lips.

My vote is going for Dungeonmaster!  All I had to read was "The evil wizard Mestema (Richard Moll)".. although I must have seen it because I've seen lots of Richard Moll movies, but I don't remember anything about a computer nerd.

Runner up would be Arena, though I wouldn't mind seeing Cigarette Burns either.

Dungeonmaster sounds good!  I'll watch that tonight.

Hope you'll enjoy Dungeonmaster more than I did. It has its (brief) cheesy moments but the rest is pretty bland.

If you want to hava particularly dumb time check out Sadomaster(2009). It's the lowest rated movie on instant. I saw it the other day. It's got some good death metal and not very good anything else.

We finally watched Dungeonmaster last night... wow, this move was crafted by 7 directors... although I'm not sure why... Each mini story was about 5 to 10 minutes long and therefore each mini story (if scripted) is 5 to 10 pages long...

Although I question "mini story" since it all part of a confusing tasking that is only answered with a laser from a wristband.

*Bonus surprise ~ The Walt Disney is credited or thank at the ending credits... Sadly there is no info on IMDB… it’s quite interesting how Disney has gotten involve with Dungeonmaster (or Ragewar)… although it’s also interesting to see W.A.S.P. in the movie… but as my wife said “They are a heavy metal band and would jump at the opportunity to play in any movie called Dungeonmaster.” Which might be true (no info on IMDB either)

Ok the movie...

The movie is about a super nerd with super glasses… seriously, his glasses has the power analyze a computer’s motherboard, can switch traffic lights (which has no relation to a computer) and can pull money out of an ATM by just looking at the ATM.

Wow… and Paul Bradford “Clark Kent” says he knows no magic. It’s no wonder that the greatest wizard wants to battle him.

During the course of the movie… “Clark Kent” computer is transformed into a wristband and if that wasn’t unbelievable, then the super computer wristband has the ability to shoot lasers, check police records and search of radio frequencies…

Again Clark Kent says he knows no magic…

The best part of the story was Richard Moll (I love this guy) he is wearing crazy contacts and they give him a cross-eyes, even his most serious expression looks ridiculously funny.

The best line… “Clark Kent” and his girlfriend wake up in a frozen wax museum, with such characters as Albert Einstein, Jack the Ripper (and variously other criminals… except Einstein) Anyway the characters note Einstein, Jack and other’s and one says… “It was like criminal is frozen it time”  Albert Einstein is a criminal? [most funny line ever]

Dungeonmaster was much more fun than I thought it would be!  It was hard to follow though.  I couldn't understand a word that the ruler of the underworld monster said.  It didn't really have a beginning, backstory, or end, but I guess they put all their time and effort into those 7 amazing challenges that required great skill and brilliance to master.

Oh!  And Excalibrate (Excalibr8 or whatever it was) is a stupid name and it made me laugh.

I only made it 43 minutes into it last night - promise I'll finish it up today!

Finished it last night.  Other than proving that if you get in a lot of fights, it's really handy to have a laser shooting armband, I guess I didn't really see too much point in the plot.  I wasn't terribly concerned with the plight of our characters either.  It almost seemed like a made-for-TV movie for little kids, except it had boobs in it.  The best part (for me) was seeing what sexy outfit they'd put the female lead in next - the outfit in the WASP video was quite nice  :teddyr:  It had some cool stop-motion effect like that giant statue that came to life.  Was that from some other movie?  Seemed a bit beyond the budget of this one.  All the conversations between the main guy and Mr. Demon were just so...boring.  Ah well, I've seen worse  :teddyr:  It was mildly amusing.

Agree the conversation was boring and confusing... although, Richard Mall crossed eye contacts kept me laughing...

The stop motion effect could of been donated from Disney, but since the monster made only a few movements it would come to any surprise that it was created for this movie.

Android is a fun cheesy movie as well.  Haven't seen it in a long time.

Watched Rockula last night.  It was kind of fun.  It turned into a music video for fairly long periods of time, but I enjoyed the music - the female vocalist was actually pretty darned good.  Toni Basil as the mom kind of stole the show.  Then there was Thomas Dolby as the bad guy and Bo Diddley as the guitar playing dude, pretty cool!  The plot wasn't bad, considering how little there was of it between the videos.  Kind of an interesting twist instead of the usual vampire thing.  Very, very cheesy at times.  I enjoyed it, a moderate amount  :bouncegiggle:

We saw Rockula like 3 months ago.. really not that long ago!  I tried to remind him and convince him and retold the whole story, he still didn't remember!  I started to think maybe I watched it by myself, or dreamed the whole thing, so we put it on last night.  As soon as he saw Toni Basil, he remembered  :lookingup:.

I really did like it though, but it's a movie that needs at least 6 months between repeat viewings.  I agree that Toni Basil stole the show! but the story was kind of cute too.
