Don Van Vliet, popularly known as Captain Beefheart, has passed away from complications with MS.  I'm pretty new to his music, having owned Trout Mask Replica for a few months or so, but he certainly made some interesting work.

I am stunned.  DON VAN VLIET was extraordinarily quiet about his personal life, particularly as he grew older, though his MS had been semi-acknowledged.  DON followed his original calling as a painter and quite a good one.  DON was a child prodigy, TV personality, recording artist, and painter all in one life.  Good night, DON, I really loved most of your albums  :bluesad: (but not so much Trout Mask Replica ...)
